Imagine Dach/Hall as our "4th" line?!

Nylander/Toews/Saad
Dinky/Strome/Kane
Shaw/Kampf/Kubalik
Hall/Dach/Smith/Caguilla/Carpenter

it would be PERFECT

- Slofire94

Well....um..... cough.....ok.....but whom did we loose for Hall.?

BTW since no mention in media about Boqvist not playing in Rockford last game, have to guess his omission is not due to serious injury

Boqvist + Caguilla (or smith/carpenter) and a conditional 2020 pick.
Conditions being: 1st round if we make it to the WCF or re-sign Hall, 2nd round pick otherwise

Ok, to me a 1st is too much. We have an odd mix of young and old without a lot in the middle. I’m thinking we just let it play out this year.

What does Stan do with the goaltenders? What happens if Lehner says I will wait until FA before making a decision. Or he wants 8 x 8?

I wouldn't trade Boqvist straight up for Hall. Hall is injured too often to be relied upon and the Hawks have enough top-6 wingers. Hall will get a big contract and Boqvist will be on his ELC for 2 or 3 more years.

This is the sort of trade McDonough would like but maybe not Bowman . It is Miike Keenan ballsy type move. I don't have an immediate response thumbs up or down. Interesting but in the final analysis I might not trade Boqvist..He could be something special. He may have a flair for producing in big games.. I am not going to be critical here. You have to pay for what you want. Could spawn a lovely discussion.for or against.

Light is beer’s worst enemy. Anything in a green or clear bottle is either skunky or will be in a matter of days. Moosehead included. It’s ok on tap, because no light has gotten to it. Still pretty bland in my book though.

Chunk, that’s why I stated we are not yet, with emphasis on yet, cup contenders. I will stand by the comment that we are not currently cup contenders, however things could change, I will not disagree there. Good discussing Hawks hockey with you, I’m sure we will continue with these type of discussions, and there will be times when we agree and times when we will disagree, but I know that we both want the Hawks to win.
- Angotti

Indeed I saw your qualifier, and I did not intend to dismiss it. My comment was more general than anything else. With the current makeup of the team (lot of very young and vets with little in between) I personally am more content to ride this year out regardless of how they end up. If the Hawks are SURE that Boqvist and/or Mitchell will be up and can replace that which is provided by others (Gus, Maatta, de Haan, etc), and they get an absolute haul, then I'd be OK with a trade.

I don't personally see how/where a forward add would benefit this team as currently constructed. Just my thoughts. I really like that we currently have a team playing competitive hockey and we have a lot of good prospects in the pipeline. I guess my thought is that if these players went from absolutely atrocious for the first 12-14 games to playoffs and possible contender, let them run it out and see what you actually have.

That being said, I'm just a guy who watches on TV and tries to correlate stats with the eye test...

You might say it's a whole new world for us to know we have too beat.the Arizona Coyotes

You may not be giving credit to their youthful GM for his emphasis on speed. And you might say that the Coyoyes ought to win more given all the early draft picks.

So what sticks out tonight as I look at their team scoring.....you are going to be surprised.....you'll say wow caught me off guard....you don't say

Noticed: their dmen scoring right near the 20 gp mark

Eckman Larson: 2- 9 for 11 pts
Goligowski: 1-10 for 11 pts

Now see this
First round picks both the next two names:

Chychrun 5 goals
Soderstrom (rookie) 6 goals

Here is something else to grab hold of:
Our dmen scoring once Mitchell and Boqvist + Carlsson are on board.

One day a few other prospects make our roster & could accumulate a few goals/points. Kyrs, Moberg, the guy we just acquired Rogula (sic ?). Even if a Gilbert or Tuulola make it/they can add some points too. Not to omit Beaudin more assist than goals from him

Was hoping someone else said this. First thing that came to my mind. Moosehead is probably the exception but yeah most other green bottle beers are crap

Adding Taylor Hall will not catapult The Hawks from possible playoff team to Cup contender. Trading a valuable piece of the future d-corps is not worth it.

Agreed. I'm not sacrificing the future for a one year shot. If you want to make a ballsy move trade Crow to Toronto for Nylander.

I would then run 5 lines:

20 - 19 - 8
12 - 17 - 88
92 - 77 - Nylander Bro
65 - 64 - 91
65/64/91 - 22 - 15 or rotate a D-Man on the wing, thus giving you 3 defensmen on the ice at one time.

2 goalies
7 defensemen

23 total

Eight years too long so I would only consider guarantee six years.. And that is really pushing the envelope with the ways players loose their top level ability for whatever reason before that term is reached.. Look at Schneiider (New Jersey).

Eboney poster iis right: not straight up do I make that trade. Boqvist hae ELC money while Hall is big dollars. If this is a situation where a.team is going for deep payoff run, then I understand the rationale..Conditions would apply as you have the right idea should you go all out to win The Cup.

Bowman won't be giving up Bovqist for a soon to be UFA like Hall who will ask for $10M per on a long term deal. And throwing in extra bodies like Caguilla doesn't interest Jersey.

Now if you want to look at dumping Stone Hands Saad for a couple months of Taylor Hall that's a starting point..........
