U are comical. Honestly...this team hasnt done squat since maf was shipped outta here...those are facts...until mur shows me and the rest of the nhl he can do something without a bonafide starter nipping at his heels for net time...I say he is a bust. Like I said..I want him to succeed.. I really do. But he is not elite at all. - taleisyreXIII

I think I stick with pairs for now: Guentzel-Sid, Malkin-Rust if this continues, and McCann-Kahun. Hard to move Rust an I kind of want to keep him on the right. - Tojo.

I didn’t necessarily mean possession stats as in Corsi I meant tangible possession with zone entries and things like that. - j.boyd919
OK, I've never put much stock in controlled entries, at least not unless I can compare them with retrieval rates, but I'm not sure where to find those. |

Idk how but it would be awesome to move on from Bjug and Galch to free up some serious space. |

Hit the nail on the head with this post.
People on here defending a .880 save percentage on here. Murray wasnt good today and we lost a game we should have won, its been a repeating story this season. |

Well I know Sid puts stock into them (not necessarily the stat, but just a literal clean zone entry) as he was complaining to the bench on "In The Room" a while back about giving the other team possession with a dump in saying something like "Guy's what the (frank), we're a puck possession team, why are we dumping it in?" something along those lines. |

Even the analysts on ATT (Caufield and Rupp I believe) said Murray was good today. |

How long was Schultz out there for in OT? He’d give it away, then they’d win it back and give it right back to Schultz so he could give it away again.
Lots of guys over staying their shifts to end the game.
Disgusting loss. Not on MM. OT would’ve been over 1 play sooner without him.
Fück that was an awful 8 minutes by the Pens. |

Penguins analysts will always defend Penguins players. A sub 900 sv percentage is never good, and when you factor in that the Pens didnt give up and breakaways or odd man rushes then that stat line is especially bad.
Just because Murray didnt let in an obvious weak goals doesnt mean that he had a good game. They didnt lose because of MM, but the team infront of him gave him a two goal lead into the back half of the third period and he let them down when they needed him.
Jarry would have won that game. |

Controlled zone entries >>>>>>> dumping.
It's not even comparable. Dumping is the option if you can't enter the zone cleanly. I went over this before with someone on here. In no circumstance should you dump it if you can enter the zone cleanly. |

The phrase “zone entry” should only be used in the bedroom between two consenting adults. I wish you guys would stop trying to turn it into a hockey term. - Grinder47
Yeah, that's a term I've heard my entire life with hockey. |

Murray fan boys have been sticking with him since day one...they have to...they r on record for hating in MAF. Facts are without MAF this team doesnt win 3 cups and doesnt see 4 finals. In every season leading to all 4 of those finals appearances MAF played a huge role for this team. He moves on and continues to look like the all star goalie he is. It's harder to take the non echo chamber stance, and I have since day one with Murray. I NEVER wanted MAF gone. This team absolutely wins three straight with MAF. That's my opinion and I'll never change it. This never means I want mur to fail...I am a fan of this team after all. But having not even seen the ot winner, I knew he was going to give one up. He often does 3 on 3. He isnt a game stealing goalie, never will be. He is a boring percentage positional goalie...and that would be great if only he could catch a puck..or not have the massive bullseye attached to his glove hand. |

So assume you're right and the Pens feel they can get the same performance if not better with Jarry. What value does MM have on the market? There was discussion the other day about a trade W/Leafs for a backup G. Shop MM+ could be entertaining on the market. |

No clue...not as much as when they shoulda traded him after the second cup. But he is perceived as a number one goalie...and before he establishes entirely that he isnt...I'd get him gone. Btw...MAF...save of the year tonight. Situational timely and incredible save.
I dunno...Jersey needs a goalie in the worst way...could MM plus considerable extras pry hall out...unlikely but I'd try. I.mean I'd love to see sid and geno shooting at MM 5 games a year as well. |

Oh yeah Kahun too. I don’t mind that. I just meant that there are plenty of options to play with Sid and Geno that there is no reason to break up that 3rd like that is rolling right now. I’m - j.boyd919
Kahun was on fire and he played under 13 minutes. Galchenyuk on a 3 game point streak, played under 13 as well |

I missed the third. Any reason why Kahun didn’t play more? Penalties? |

yeah but you probably aren't a 4th line plug with no hands. |

We came out so hot in the third. Powerplay looked pretty damn crisp. Geno looks like he likes moving it around with Galchenyuk out there. It was all so good and then we started gifting them pucks... Lafferty sends it down when nobody is ready to pressure, even worse the Malkin line was coming out - just send it back to the weak side and maintain possession!
Then what happens.. Malkin turns it over. Galchenyuk gets a puck to Blandisi hoping to get it back, Blandisi turned it over
Galchenyuk looks good but turns it over at the red line, Sullivan looks mad 😂
Rust with an awful penalty. Really unnecessary. No call on the cross check knocking Marino down - dope lol. Btw who said he sucks? He’s been unreal |
|
|
|
That third goal is just absolutely terrible. That’s not Murray’s fault at all. He 100% has to think Eberle might shoot. That is Schultz’s guy, Schultz takes the wrong guy, ZAR then commits to him and then Lafferty crashes down for who the fuq knows what reason.
Poor MM, hung out to dry on that one |

They’re going forward with Domingue and Blackwood for now. They’ve lost all confidence in Schneider - hoping he can catch fire in the minors but they don’t see it |
|
|
|
So Kahun and Galchenyuk get benched with 8 minutes to go to protect the lead. Lafferty doing god knows what on that third goal, watching NOBODY. Then he goes back out, turns it over trying to gain the far blue. Then he chops it down for an icing. Don’t get me wrong, I like the kid but he wasn’t doing well in the third. Shortened the bench in the wrong direction. Dan Bylsma type stuff
That tying goal redirects off Blueger and in. It was going right at MM. No goalie is reacting that quickly
I agree with Boyd, really good game by MM. that first goal against was Kola’s fault. That’s not a switch there and he let Beau go to the high slot alone
Petts with TWO turnovers on Nelson’s goal, tipped so cant blame MM there
Agree with you Rino, not a good OT by Schultz. Sullivan maybe losing faith in Petts and Kola after the turnovers. Another great game by the top pairing though! |

If McCann is set as our 3rd line C than Bjugstad could be packaged with one of our backup goalies and a D-man for defensive help...or just go for Taylor Hall |
