I agree on keeping that line together. They look great

Why not Kahun potentially with Sid and Jake? I’m not over Galchenyuk either yet. Is he still over supporting the puck? Yes but that’s also on the coach. He’s creating, looks good on the PP. if he wasn’t in front on the PP that puck doesn’t get over to Rust. His play has improved and he deserves credit for it

Oh yeah Kahun too. I don’t mind that. I just meant that there are plenty of options to play with Sid and Geno that there is no reason to break up that 3rd like that is rolling right now. I’m

So JJ-Schultz is currently a thing again?

He also wants to play a puck possession game, which isn’t Tanev’s game. Sid has been caught on camera criticizing team mates for dumping to chase.
- j.boyd919

I think Tanev is about an even player for possession, but he does have an effect on scoring chances. Seems to have better hands than expected to considering he's already at 5 goal and 11 points and wasn't getting hardly any points with Blueger and ZAR.

I wouldn't mind trying it, Sid's line was struggling defensively and Tanev would certainly help there.

Is it not working, at the moment?
- pens_4ever

...it was only a shift or two, no? Several?...game didn't start that way.

I think it's more so JJ Rikky making some mistakes and being changed up

If this Kahun-McCann-Tanev line keeps tearing it up, I think it would be a mistake to try and pull it apart to put one or two of them with Sid/Geno.

Having that line as your 3rd line, clicking like that is great. Leave that line be and try to plug the other holes with guys like Bjugstad, Horny, Rust, Simon, Galch.

- j.boyd919

I agree, not to mention it seems like a quintessential 3rd line.

No reason not to go back to Guentzel Sid Simon

Kahun and McCann have such good chemistry. Not sure yet if Tanev has to stay there, but if this keeps up that's such a weapon as a 3rd line.

I think it changed right after Rikki got pickpocketed.

You have to put players in the best position to be effective..as individuals and as complete lines. This current third line looks solid...but simon DOENST work with jake and sid...unless his job is to negate their effectiveness. Horny is too slow and I dont think sid really loves lining up with him consistently. Bjug is too lumbering for my liking. Chucky could work, but again I dont see him here long...so why bother. Rust is better with geno so leave him there. Reese also played well with geno. Spreading the talent is a luxury we have here so let keep Lafferty here and see what he can bring up top(worked great for jake)

They were actually really struggling though perhaps Sid's injury played a bigger part. I don't think Simon has been as good this year.

You're welcome. I don't fully grasp those heat charts, but I've seen 25% described as insanely high and Marino is better than that.

I don't delve into the stats sites like you guys do. But, I do like to have a semblance of understanding of what you guys are discussing when I read the boards.

I like what I see in Marino. Hell, if nothing else he gets his shots from the point through!

Very fast line. None of them really coast to watch the play.

One of Tanevs stand out traits to me is positional awareness. Whether it be covering the point on a pinch or on the PK and back check. Hes very rarely off.

Well, I would say put Chucky there to get him going and increase his trade value. He also has more of a track record of being a point producer than does Lafferty.

Simon has been pretty invisible the last few. Tonight hasn’t been good for him at all

Simon has no finish, but he is good at keeping pucks alive in the offensive zone
