How has it been evident?
You predicted that Vesey would pull a Leino? He's been nothing but consistent in his goal totals his 3 years in the league.
Mojo was a savvy signing.
VO, for all his shortcomings 5v5, is on pace for 28 goals and 56 points. As a rookie.
Eichel, Skins, Rhino are all top line or top 2 line players.
Vesey (as we KNEW him), Sheary, Mitts should have made for a decent 3rd line.
Mojo should not have been thrust into a 2C, but is fine as a 2W.
The 4th line is the 4th line.
Where was it evident? - Powerslave
I've been saying since July that Botterill did not sufficiently address the forwards. It was so clear. Bringing back the scrubs was the cherry on the top. Every step of the way, it was said he'll do more and that it was no problem he re-signed the scrubs, or that it doesn't matter that he didn't take care of Sobotka and bring in real talent for the 2nd line. He'll do it later. And that's still the company line.
He'll fix it, he just needs 3 or 4 more years |

Casey mittlestat should be playing in a Minnesota Gophers jersey still, and our plug in center we should have signed instead of rushing him should be finishing up their contract right now.

I don't know how long I've been saying people need to stop buying this product. I actually don't think it will matter at this point. The place being a library didn't matter. I couldn't tell you the last time the Sabres sold out of a game. Which is beyond sad. |

The scrubs are playing 8 minutes a night. Sobotka has missed the last 5 games. Guess what? They still suck.
There is a hole on line two. I'll absolutely buy that. On paper, though, he addressed the lack of secondary scoring. Mojo is hurt. Vesey has been uncharacteristically terrible, offensively. They should have a really decent 3rd line. For whatever reason, they don't.
I won't buy into your story that all this losing is because he brought back two 4th line players.

Next year is the breaking point for me with the team. This off season is the key to Botterill’s tenure, IMO. - SyrSabreFan
He’s going to need to fill a ton of holes on offense with UFAs and youngsters already here. I’m not optimistic about his chances of success. |

I am. I like the approach and the methodology. We need stability and a measured approach. Thank god fans don’t make decisions for the team. |

Patently false. The LOG line was playing 13-14 minutes each before injury.
That's beside the point. The one solid player Botterill brought in was asked to move to center because for the 2nd (frank)ing year in a row, he didn't address the center position on line two. And then to top it off, they saddled him with the offensive juggernaut that is Sobotka because Botterill couldn't even bring another 2nd line player.
He didn't bring in nearly enough talent. It was obvious 6 months ago. |

Are all these players having a b!tchin’ time, or could one or two of them have lost their love of the game? |

So how has Asplund/Lazar/Rodrigues/Sheary done?
Anything? 71 and 43 have made Skinner look like he wants to kill himself and we’re talking about the LOG line again?

They literally said they’re going to stop Jack and see what happens. If you put 2-3 guys on Jack, like they did tonight, this is what happens. What a disgrace. |

I'm sick of being the negative force about the team. I hope they replace the GM. His roster construction is awful and it's been evident for years. I didn't want to be right about this.
I loathe being the negative bumhole. Truly. I (frank)ing hate this. |

Drop Jack down to line 4.
Play him 8 minutes a night.
The other team won't know how to defend that, since they'll play their top line 18 minutes a night.
Jack will face their 4th line, and score 6 goals a night.
Problem solved. |
