The best goalie prospect in all of hockey is playing for the Cincinnati Cyclones? - PrinceChill
6K is on a rehab assignment, was just named goaltender of the week in the ECHL, and won't be there for long.
It's him and Spencer Knight regarding the best goaltending prospect in hockey. |

Please go sign the assistant pro personnel development guy from Tampa and put him in charge of that here.
The Sabres suck at developing players. - ImThatGuy
Are u aware that there was talk of Hedman being a bust early in his career?
He didn’t develop into the stud he is now till about year6 for him
It’s ok that Dahlin isn’t a Norris winner at 19 |

"This isn't the same as last year"
> 90% of the roster is the same - jcragcrumple
The over exaggerating is getting quite tiresome
New players include:
MoJo, Olofsson, Vesey, Miller, Jokiharju,
and i think it’s fair to count Montour
6/23= 26%
Even if u don’t include Montour, that 22%
More than double your 10% claim
If you’re gonna keep complaining,
at least try to be accurate

When Murray left
- at the cap
- no forward depth
- Kane a pending UFA
- no Defense depth
- No goaltending, at all
Botterill today
- At the cap, with a bunch coming off
- Good D depth
- Best goalie prospect in hockey
- terrible forward depth
One is still visibly better - sbroads24
2014 draft
picks 31, 44, 49
doesn't hit on any of them
a small market team is doomed w/o solid drafting
he had 22 picks after the first round in his 3 drafts and what do we have to show for it
asplund, olofsson, johansson and borgen
and that's about it |

It’s not just Dahlin.
It’s Mitts
It’s literally every prospect that has come through here that never amounted to anything.
How many prospects did we go through that we thought were going to be sure fire top 6 forwards or top 4 dmen.
Are the Sabres just the unluckiest team in the NHL that none of their prospects progress or are they just had at developing talent? |

hedman was sound in his own end at 18 and 19
he had the best +/- for any of the full time d men his rookie year for tampa
his offensive game, waited until year three to thrive but he was anything but a bust
I wish dahlin had half of hedmans d game in year 2

Any team is doomed without a good scouting department.
80% of a GM’s success rate depends on this.

How many of you so called fans are willing to accept the truth that the Sabres are a terrible professional organization with a God awful product on the ice? How many more seasons d o we listen to you make excuses for the "wonderful potential" this team has. Well let me tell you something.... "Potential" ain't sh!t unless it is displayed on the ice for 60 minutes a game every game of the season...... Now lets enjoy another season of the sabres sinking to the bottom and drafting even more "potential"... |

It will be interesting to see what transpires in the next few weeks, it's kinda obvious that he was building for 20-21, but will he do something now or the near future to upgrade his forward ranks. Can he get ahold of another good forward to help his team. I believe if Zucker is available, he will be the one. |

Seriously? 1 guy make a difference on this team?... When pigs fly.... This team needs a turnover of at least 8 players to even be competitive... |

Everybody has the right to complain, with the poop that has been put on the ice. But you can also turn the channel and not worry about it. |

The Fasching trade is just insane looking back at it. Would love to know what he was thinking there.
The pile of picks he gave up is why we have so few prospects ready to play now....and why guys like Girgs, Larsson, etc are still around. As much hate as they get, no one has really pushed for their jobs. - Lunaion
That trade was horrible, would have loved to have kept McNabb.
Kane trade he waaaay overpaid for. Should have insisted on Trouba in that trade as well. It would have been more balanced.
Lehner trade was bad
Only good trade was O'Reilly IMO. |

I understand that, but 1 guy in the fold now checks a box of for next year, and as bad as it's been, it's still only November. Can they turn it around, don't know, but they proved they can win games. We shall see what kind of balls they have. |

Bingo!
When one backroads the last 2 or 3 pages, the prospect pool looks pretty, pretty good! And hope is restored. So one then begins to believe that time is the biggest factor in making the Sabres great again. If 70% of these guys hit, we'll be great.
Then, one considers this team's record of developing their young, high draft picks and the questions begin to emerge. Sure Eichel, Reinhart look good to very good. Then Baptiste, Bailey enter you head.
Mitts is off to a very slow start while Heiskanen, Maker, Pettersson, Jokiharju from that class are excelling.
Nylander was considered a bust here, but McAvoy, Sergachev, Chycrhun, Debricat playing well.
Even friggin generational talent Dahlin looks completely lost NOW compared to Svechnikov, Tkachuck.
Kirby Dach looks pretty special on the Blackhawks, especially for a rookie
Why don't our prospects ever seem to blow the doors off. It cannot be a coincidence that these guys (except Jack) seem to take forever.
Did Nylander hit on a truth when he said he was excited to go to a team that knew how to develop its' young players. |

I don't mind that they are focused on developing his D game, as his has been pretty bad at that facet of his game.
I am however very concerned that they are also stripping away his offensive abilities on 5v5. He looks like a deer in headlights when he gets the puck in his own zone now. It is concerning. |

Hey Rapper,
IMO, the successful organizations realize a balance of skill and heart is optimal.
Too much reliance on high skills can reveal a soft underbelly.
Too much heart is great, yet skill is necessary to produce.
The Sabres have yet to construct their roster with players who have both.
Eichel displayed it over the past several games. Sam jumps in, pushes back, doesn't backdown.
The game the other night is proof. The impact on the team from Jack's fight lasted about 10 minutes of play. After that, the boys settled back into a comfortable collect my paycheck style of play.

Zucker is good no doubt. Plays LW.
Is LW really a position of critical need?
Ya, he would be the 2nd best LW on the team, but would he be so much better over Mojo that it would be worth the assets to acquire him? In this regard, I think the net value to the Sabres would be considerably lower than obtaining a 2C.
I'd rather they target Mikko Koivu for less assets that it would take to secure Zucker.
Re-sign him in the offseason for a Stahl type contract, or incentive laden contract for a year or 2.
He could teach Casey and Cozens the art of playing 2C in the NHL. A virtual coach on the ice 100% of the time with one of both of them. |

Ah, I see. We’re arguing over the definition of “prospect”. Samsonov has played 8 NHL games.
Tage has played over 100 NHL games and he’s still referred to as a prospect by many. I will revise my definition of “prospect” to “hockey player who has never played an NHL game.” |
