Well, because we don't have the assets to improve otherwise, I don't think. They need to improve the forward ranks and they might have to do something big to do it. They kept the core for years and were mediocre befire they blew it up. This isn't blowing it up just improving that winger position, hopefully, substantially because I don't think other teams worry too much about anyone but Jack.

Patty wanted to sign Miller and Ott (not a center) long-term and rebuild on the fly.

GMTM convinced Terry the best course was to blow it up and tank for McDavid.

Terry sided with GMTM and Patty made it easy for him when he took his ball and went home.

Then Terry realized GMTM wasn't a yes-man when he wouldn't fire Bylsma, who at this point was no worse than the gum-chewer and Freddy
