We had severe depth problems past few years, attributing to the insignificant costs of some of the players we brought here. He didn't use good assets on good players, besides Skinner. He used average to below avg assets on average to below average players. You want a shake up? Release every single UFA and Erod. Find NHL players to replace at least half of them.

For the most part that should have been done over the summer. It was a zero risk play to bring in different bad players and maybe, just maybe, you'd get one that doesn't totally suck

So they can play MORE on the perimeter?

That’s his ploy, tip toe around then dangle to the net and bury.

Pat Kane always wanted to be Timmy look how he’s plying

"General Manager Jason Botterill has overplayed his hand and is now completely stuck. He has too many defensemen and not enough forwards. He obviously needs to trade for scoring help, but who's going to help a guy backed so far into a corner fix a team that's just plain soft?

"We’re actively looking to see if we can make our team a little better and find a forward out there to help our group," Botterill told reporters before the game after returning from GM meetings in Toronto.

Better get a move on that, Jason. Like how about maybe before the plane leaves for Boston on Wednesday afternoon? This team needs help."

Umm, half the league is looking for D help, according to some.

He won't have an issue, right?

Mitts should be wing as well.

Eichel feels bad until he checks his bank account

- washedup20

He acts like he is pissed and doesn't give a poop about his bank account. I like that.

Something that i've been thinking about lately is its pretty crazy how good eichel is, how he can take over a game at will, then realizing hes not even close to as good as mcdavid.

Still just so awful that hes in edmonton and rarely on TV

The defense is headed in the right direction, but Dahlin needs to develop much faster to take over number 1, for the sake of this team. It's unfair, but it's what they need. I liked what Jason did at defense, offense, MoJo was a nice add, so was keeping Skinner, but Vesey has tanked, Sheary is a nobody without an elite center, and Casey needs to play wing next to an actual center.

Once again, we're here, begging for a real center, and probably two of them.

I really get the sense that they're trying to turn Dahlin into something he's not. Take the restraints off him and let him do what he does best.

This team is in a major skid right now. Play him 20 minutes a night and live with his mistakes. The result will be a net positive.

If he wants to:

"See if we can make our team a little better and find a forward out there to help our group, we are also happy with how our players have come up from Rochester and played so far.”

"But it’s imperative that we keep our depth on defense and we’ve utilized it already this year, so we know over the course of 82 games we’re going to need it again here.”

Botterill and his defensemen are like Smeagol and his preciouses

Only (frank)ing reason we beat Ottawa is because Eichel and only Eichel beat Ottawa. Expecting a player to do that every or every other game is unreasonable at best. Not that you suggested as much, just going off on a tangent.

Holy S, John Gilmour playing forward. 3ER told ya Zero Forward Strat was a thing. The hits keep coming for me. The effin Billy Joel of these boards.

Please fire this putz of a GM before he does anymore brain damage to this organization. Wow, who would want to inherit the disaster he created???? Juice aint worth the squeeze. It might be of interest to a top notch 3ER like mind if they still had a Conn Smythe Selke winning player on their roster, but the effin moron made sure that ship has sailed. Set the org back at least 20 years.

They're crafting him into the best two way dman in the league. They don't want him to be Kris Letang.

They drafted two guys very high to play center, Reinhart and Mittelstadt, and neither of them seem to be able to do it. If Cozens turns out to be that, it's a major problem.

That's all well and good, but what's the point if you're getting neither and he's looking like Jake Gardiner instead? Not that he's a bad player, but you need much better out of a #1 overall.

Glad they're keeping Cozens away. He's a grinder. I think he's going to be a lot like Brayden Point. I think we're going to really like him once he's developed.

Eichel does that, what, once every 7 or 8 games? He's incredible. McDavid does it every other game.

God damn lottery balls.

They're making him play a game he wasn't drafted for. But to be the best in this league, he needs to learn a lot of things he wasn't particularly good at. He still has years to develop a more well rounded game, and discussing his growing pains as failures, game by game, is a little ridiculous. He's supremely talented and he's intelligent. Kid's gotta learn. So be it.

Josh Allen was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, so there's that.

(I'm totally expecting a dud next week against Denver, just because)

It's too bad the hockey and football seasons overlap.

Josh Allen could be the Buffalo Bo Jackson. He has elite size and good vision. Perfect 2C candidate

Eh. Baseball and football overlap somewhat. Give the man a pair of skates.
