Well he’s certainly not being used properly or given an opportunity that makes the most of what he has to offer. Someone will get a relative bargain next year - hope it’s us. He’d be an ideal partner for Rathbone IMO.
- DrChristianTroy

It's funny, after the trade I predicted that very thing would happen. TO would destroy him and he'd flee to the 1st taker, likely us or the AVS.

Question is though, do we really want a player ruined by TO? I'm not so sure we'd get more out of him if things stay the way they are

This is what inexperienced coaches do. Instead of letting players play through their slumps they panic and shuffle.

Called 6-3 Stars was only two goals off!!

- LordHumungous

Most nhl coaches shuffle if down like 3 goals. Obviously the current state isn't producing you try to see if something else will. AV did that even if down 1-2 goals.

Nothing to lose at that point. Doing the same thing would be foolish....a WD move lol

Green has lost this group about two weeks ago. No significant injuries should warrant a drop in effort like this.

Totally over his head. The dumb(frank) doesn’t know which skillsets make for possible chemistry... so we have to sit through his experiments.

So youre saying they were coached at the top of the league during our incredibke wkn streak and now suddenly they're getting coached poorly
That makes zero sense.

I've followed the canucks closely for over a decade and this is the best this team has looked since Luongo patrolled the net.. but they're still not close. They need more time, and I'm not talking 6 months to squeek into the playoffs. I firmly believe if you dont have a shot at the cup you fold and try to position yourself better for next year. They COULD conceivably make the playoffs, they're a very bubble team, but they're not contenders for the ultimate prize this year, and never will be with Chris Tanev and Alex Edler getting first pairing minutes every night.

Goalies have always been had a reputation for being a little wacky, but Markstrom seems actually bi-polar, or Jekyll and Hyde. That half silver half blue mask is just as awful as the one with the ears, or the all blue one he was rocking last week to a lesser extent.

If Doug Wilson calls and says Martin Jones has agreed to waive his No-Trade to come play for his hometown team, would you take that contract for Schaller and Marky?

Bunch of Canadian teams playing like dog poop

But man is Toronto piling on Tyson Barrie and rightfully so

he is playing sooooooooo damn terrible. Even with his $2.5 million cap hit, he still isnt worth it. Complete backfire of a trade.
He literally cost them the game tonight on a brutal turnover that led to a breakaway.

do you know how bad Tyson Barrie is at playing defence? He makes Stecher look like a first pairing defender defensively.

Pair him with Benn, tell Benn to play more at home. Canucks D scoring has dried up, may as well try to shake it up. Don’t think Stecher will be here next year, so see if Barrie will fit the system.

I mean, Stecher gets 10-12 minutes a game mainly against 3rd and 4th lines. Not like he’s crushing it here.

All scoring has dried up. I'd love to shake this team up considering they are falling into the same patterns regularly.

Stecher isn't crushing it probably because he's not allowed to play Even though he wouldn't anyways but he's certainly worth more than 13 minutes a night.

Eriksson and Baertschi lines have been on the ice for 1 5v5 goal in 18 games.

I'd actually prefer to try Goldobin instead of Baertschi.

lol well at least WD was able to get a non-playoff team to 103 pts.

On pace for around 90-92 pts with Green is what it is.

lol almost B2B 60 point seasons on COL suggest otherwise. Babcock has no clue how to use him.

No I have never, ever said that they were coached at the top of the league, what I have said is that they overachieved during their incredible run, and it makes 100% sense.

How bout WPG though? Killing it with an AHL defence and a 'somewhat starter' Goalie lol

We have 'NHL' defence and a 'starter' and can't win in regulation.

It's November.

I doubt it's Babcock. More like Barrie really sucks at defence and isn't being sheltered not nearly as much as he was in Colorado.

NHL.com had their top 20 lists of best defenders and Barrie even though one of the top 10 highest scoring defence doesn't make the list because as they stated "isn't very good defensively"

Oh come on makita, you're telling me you disagree with greens decision to play schaller with petey for different shifts after going down 2 goals?
