2nd wildcard spot is currently a 95 point pace.

Leafs on a 78 point pace right now.

35-21-3 the rest of the way keeps them on the bubble.

- BINGO!

IMO, if they lose to Arizona and Colorado, then Babs should be fired on Sunday

#Leafs have now gone over 400 straight minutes of action without holding a lead.

Maybe Keefe can bring it out of them?

Is it too late to hire Craig Berube?

Wait until next Wednesday night's game in Detroit.

Fire him after the anthems, before the puck drop.

I looked into it and the Blues being in last place last season was what pushed them over the top, really built character and helped the team come together.

So this is good

They need to come together and put on a run.

They also can’t sit on their hands IMO...whatever if you aren’t going to fire Babs mid season. But there needs to be a shakeup.

The Flames and Preds are both in the same scenario. In fact the Flames are so close to the leafs this year it’s scary.

they just have to do a thing they did last year

Stephen Burtch
@SteveBurtch
Before anyone tried to convince you that is impossible... 72 pts in 60 gp is a .600 pts%.

Seems hard given their current state, but not remotely impossible.

12 NHL clubs topped a .600 pts% last year in 82 games. Including TOR.

10 accumulated 72+ pts in the final 60 gp last yr.

What was the good reason?
They were a .500 team from jan until the end of the season last year

- Fakepartofme

They had 100 points.

You can’t just cut out half the year because you feel like it.

You are always the one on here clambering the islanders are food because all that matters is results.

Well the Leafs season resulted in 100 points.

except that 72 points is only 94 points, which is behind the pace that the Flyers are currently on for the last wildcard spot.

And it's only 59 games now.

if they were already doing that thing we wouldn't be talking about them needing to smarten up and do the thing they already have proven they can do in the past

So they need to play as well as Colorado or Arizona is right now, when you consider that they need to post a .640 winning percentage.

If there was a magic switch, that would be great, but even last night where "they played better", there were a number of alarming problems - like the left side of the ice was frequently devoid of any Maple Leaf player leaving Vegas free to exploit it.

They still don't have their act together, and the winning percentage is going to be higher before they figure this out - with or without their current coaching staff.
