The one advantage to keeping Babs (and writing off the season) is he can be hard as frank on them. Benchings, bag-skates, I don't franking care - just get them to put forth an honest effort.

It's franking embarrassing right now - guys demand salaries above the market rate, and then put forth a piss-poor effort. Don't give me crap about their point totals - I don't give two franks about scoring late to make it a 5-3 loss.

This team is consistently scored upon first - that's just a lack of heart and effort.

I wasn't even tempted to stay up last night to watch the game. I've seen too many poop Leafs games over my lifetime where we didn't have the talent to win.

I lived through the Ballard era. I paid $7 to go sit in greys at Maple Leaf Gardens, and watch Jim Korn and Peter Ihnacak and Miroslav Frycer and Val James and 1,000 other guys who were absolute horsepoop.

I watched those miserable frankers lose and lose and lose again, and it was fine, because I knew there was no point in putting forth an honest effort, because the assembled team was so franking poop that they never had any hope of winning a Stanley Cup (although winning the Norris Division was always a possibility).

But this team has talent. It has high-end talent - at least up front.

But they don't care. They simply don't care. They demanded millions, and now they have no desire whatsoever to earn it.

He's a classic Toronto signing - huge name, well past the "best before date."

There were a lot of whispers that he shouldn't have been on the All Blacks' team for the World Cup (just ended) - that they put him on due to reputation, not current talent.

The whole Toronto Rugby League thing is franking bizarre - I can't possibly imagine a business plan whereby it ever turns a profit.
