They've already been mathematically eliminated from the 2020 post-season.

Go Wolfpack.

We have our seasons to that. Nearly 20 years and I still have no idea if they'll be good from year to year. |

This is why I'm so franking angry.
I lived through the Ballard era. I paid $7 to go sit in greys at Maple Leaf Gardens, and watch Jim Korn and Peter Ihnacak and Miroslav Frycer and Val James and 1,000 other guys who were absolute horsepoop.
I watched those miserable frankers lose and lose and lose again, and it was fine, because I knew there was no point in putting forth an honest effort, because the assembled team was so franking poop that they never had any hope of winning a Stanley Cup (although winning the Norris Division was always a possibility).
But this team has talent. It has high-end talent - at least up front.
But they don't care. They simply don't care. They demanded millions, and now they have no desire whatsoever to earn it.
Frank them. - Atomic Wedgie
It's completely different. Those Ballard teams (except Wendel) sucked. This team is loaded with talent..
It just seems like they are playing to get Babs fired. Dubas has to come out and say, Babs is staying or going.. Can't let it linger anymore. |

They were a 1st place team for the first two months and a top 5 team for half a season.
All adds up to 100 points.
Keep ignoring it if you feel it helps your point though.
cool.
who cares.

1st!
For two months you say?
Oh.
November 1st 2018 standings
1. Preds
2. Lightning
3. Jets
4. Flames
5. Boston
6. Leafs/Avs
Jan 5th
1. Lightning
2. Leafs, calgary and vegas tied.
So no 1st, outside of the first couple of weeks, when the lightning had only played 4 games compared to leafs 7.
Their record from mid Jan to end of season was that of a non playoff team. Luckily they had that nice buffer from Oct - Nov.

amen.
I guess I was fortunate in hindsight... my dad split a set of seasons tickets (front row greens between the blue line and center ice from 73-78... it was great - team was good and competitive most nights back then...
due to University and having the good fortune of attractive girlfriends I lost interest in spending every Saturday night watching those morons.... but yup - some of those 80s teams were horrendous.
could you imagine this group of pansies with Brophy as the coach?
the fortunate thing now is that they really do have a bunch of talent... they just need to clean out the "passengers"...
I'm absolutely not convinced that Dubas would recognize who the passengers really are |

I believe I was criticized for suggesting that Dubas (it's not his decision anyway) is hesitating about Babcock...
but he's probably working on the model which identifies exactly which day and at which time he should be let go...

Yes I did say 2 months.....Can you (frank)ing count?
This day last year the Leafs were 2nd in the NHL with 30 points. 1 point behind NSH.
and......Uhm.No. The Leafs were 1 point ahead of them with both at 21 games played.
Nice try though. |

Too early to fire babs imo.
It lets the players off the hook.
Let them work their way out of it.
Leafs make the playoffs.

Leafs tried to play the right way and be better defensively and have some heart.
They work there way all the way to 12 minute mark of the 3rd when they finally got on the board and fighting back.
Babcock puts the 4th line out on the draw immediately after the goal and 40 senconds later it’s 2-1 Vegas.
If that’s not a deflater I don’t know what is. Atleast they kept trying to come back.
And the 0/2 on the pk is frustrating as hell. |

I completely agree... just think its hilarious that Dubas is waffling around... has he said anything publicly of any note recently...nope.
I can't wait for his next press availability - to see if any of the media have the guts to ask him respond with anything other than platitudes.
Get better every day
Work Harder....
that's Babcock's schtick...
can't wait to hear Dubas...

Sonny Bill Williams is a complete and utter Richard. He'll be either arrested or suspended during his time here. I also think he's gonna have trouble switching disciplines. |
