Yes I did say 2 months.....Can you (frank)ing count?
This day last year the Leafs were 2nd in the NHL with 30 points. 1 point behind NSH.
and......Uhm.No. The Leafs were 1 point ahead of them with both at 21 games played.
Nice try though. - Santo_44
So for 3 days they held onto 1st place in mid november and a couple weeks in october while having games in hand.
Ah "first 2 months" |

If Babcock gets fired, I might have to sell my shares in Bell Media as they'll have nothing to clickbait anymore. |

I completely agree... just think its hilarious that Dubas is waffling around... has he said anything publicly of any note recently...nope.
I can't wait for his next press availability - to see if any of the media have the guts to ask him respond with anything other than platitudes.
Get better every day
Work Harder....
that's Babcock's schtick...
can't wait to hear Dubas... - BorjeFan4Ever
Dubas is being patient....or appears he is.
Which is the right move imo right now.
The media never ask pressing questions anymore....they simply roast people in their blogs or columns. |

Marner is meeting up with the team on the road trip. Like what they did with Matthews last year.
I think that’s a good move, see if he can get some energy back in the room. Even if he isn’t playing. |

Or are the Leafs as bad as they are right now because Tyler Ennis isn't in the lineup? |

Leafs tried to play the right way and be better defensively and have some heart.
They work there way all the way to 12 minute mark of the 3rd when they finally got on the board and fighting back.
Babcock puts the 4th line out on the draw immediately after the goal and 40 senconds later it’s 2-1 Vegas.
If that’s not a deflater I don’t know what is. Atleast they kept trying to come back.
And the 0/2 on the pk is frustrating as hell. - bryant
I saw some comments about the line choices.
I am not a coach, but they do seem odd. Like putting Stone hands Goat out with 3 mins left trailing
Who was playing the PK? |

Leafs 5v5 goal differential with Barrie on the ice this year: 32.35% (would rank worst in the league by 8%)
Leafs 5v5 goal differential without Barrie on the ice this year: 55.56% (would rank 7th best in the league) |

The Goat is back to his normal self and there is absolutely zero reasoning for playing Shore and Goat at the same time. Poor Engvall |

Irrelevant.
Or are the Leafs as bad as they are right now because Tyler Ennis isn't in the lineup? - Santo_44
so players have no impact on results?
fact is that Leafs played their best hockey in years last year before Nylander returned.
at that point, Dubas should have traded him for an actual upgrade on RHD; a guy that can play well in his own zone - the player that the head coach had been asking about for over 2 years.
Dubas and Babcock don't go along well - and Dubas is sabotaging Babcock's chances of achieving anything by not getting him the players he wants.
It's sad to see that Babcock has to go to Russia to make sure that Leafs get the players he wants on the team.
(McBackup was his guy - he wanted Leafs to keep him; Mikheyev is his guy; he's asked for a few others, and Dubas didn't do anything to help him). |
