I’m not saying pay him a crazy deal but the whole “anyone can slot in there” argument is weak at best.....there have been guys that played with them and fell flat.....Kass is a good mix for that line....with all they said I don’t go a penny more then 3 mil per season |

The solution is pretty simple: The points average at HBEfl in Mio. when Cherrywreck will drop him (or end of season) will be handed for a 3y deal, currently 3.22 (Mio.)... |

I’d bring him back on a 2 year deal, though I’d prefer just 1. He’d certainly be an upgrade to the bottom 6. |

I think he meant as a Kassian replacement. And I'm not convinced he would be bottom-6 upgrade, at least with how Tippett is currently using them. |

Tippett utilizes one as a shutdown line and and seems like he would try to do this regardless of if we had more skill there or not. That's not a fit for Maroon, whose defensive game is weak.
The other line, a softer scoring line, is one that he COULD fit on but, in its current iteration is playing a very low event style that is contributing to a winning goal share iirc. Possibly a fit in future iterations but no guarantees- especially given his age. |

I don't know exactly who you are referring to as those who fell flat but there are really only two other wingers who have spent any long amount of time with McDavid and Draisaitl; Caggiula and Rattie. One of those went on to play in Chicago and do okay Toews and DeBrincat piggybacking on their line and was a fourth liner when he wasn't with them. The other currently isn't in the NHL.
There have not been an abundant amount of proven NHL players that have played with these two. The ones that have (Maroon and Kassian) have been success stories. |
