Insulting people usually doesn’t result in a pleasant response. Just saying.

I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in stating that Elliott has a propensity to be really really bad. Been kind of his MO his entire career, including in Ottawa when his career almost ended because of his ability to be absolutely horrendous at times. All I said was when it goes bad for him, it goes really BAD, as in both goals he should have saved today. And 2 of the 3 he should have saved against the Islanders.

I think that’s a fair assessment.

Actually there was a stat the other night that over the last 5 years or so Elliot has one of the better GAA and save %.
He wasn’t fully healthy last year.

Toronto was looking to sign Neuvirth..... There were plenty of options out there for Elliott. He could have gone to Carolina, Isles, Calgary, Edmonton, Chicago, Columbus or Toronto to name a few.

We will never know. Isles wanted Varly and went out and got him. Chicago wanted Lehner and got him. There was no way he was going to Calgary. So take those teams out. So we are talking Edmonton, Carolina, Columbus, and Toronto. The Canes had the AHL goalie of the year and traded for the backup from Chicago, once the Hawks got Lehner. The Oilers apparently like Koskinen. So that leaves Columbus and Toronto. Columbus considers both their goalies as highly touted and upcoming.

So maybe Toronto. Maybe. I’m not sure if the Flyers didn’t sign him, again with all the injuries and blah play the last few years, he was going to find a job. At least not at the outset of the season.

Not if he keeps playing like this....no issue with skill...hopefully he continues to keep it simple in his own end. Tough for guys like him who have never had to focus on the defensive side of things to any great level, because they always had the puck, and were so good offensively. That’s not the case for any player in the NHL.

He was very good 5 years ago. He was excellent in St. Louis. He had a horrific playoff in Calgary. Then he came here where has had stretches of very good hockey. And he’s also been hurt. And I’ll say it again, when he’s not on his game he is a complete liability. And it happens rapidly and completely.

I was not a fan of bringing him back. But I will root for him to do well bc I love the team and he seems like a great guy. However, I’ll say it again, when he’s bad, it’s really really bad.

EDIT: I also put Mrazek in that group. Perhaps worse lol.
