Now I agree with not using the buyouts, we weren’t winning the cup this year anyways if we had a few extra million to spend. I’d rather not be paying Sobotka’s $1M cap hit next year.

I think coaches are afraid to make real coaching decisions. Think about Risto McCabe and the d core They are a sinking ship right now. Yet ..... Ralph. Bylsma and housley did pretty much the same thing and got the same results. [url]

This is the biggest head scratcher of all! Can anyone really explain the fact that we’ve seen the same nonsense out of these 2 for years through 3 coaches and it’s the same. Exact. Results.

Risto plays too many minutes and should be a second pairing guy.

McCabe brings a bit of toughness but is no more than a 3rd pairing, fringe second pairing guy....

The gm goes out and actively acquires, 3 new d men in what, 5 months. Has a generational talent in his second year. A couple pending ufa vets and some kids that can play and we still get risto and McCabe on the top pair. And McCabe has looked like poop warmed over and we still get him on the top pair.

He needs to make a move, and by all indications is closing in on making at least one.

I could see playing those two so much if they are showcasing for a trade.
With the play on ice, they need to stop playing them together and for so many minutes as it is backfiring on them tremendously.
Scouts have to walk out shaking their heads most niights.
