peters is guilty of overcoaching this team.. Nobody can do anything right.. He insists on changing their games so that we have 20 robots on the ice at a time.. Hockey doesn't work like that..

How many goals does Lucic have? How many do his linemates have? If the answer to both of those questions is less than 5, you can pretty much put it all on Lucic.

LOL, Gaudreau is -11 with an assist during this streak. Monahan is -10 with 1 goal. The 4th line has 1 goal all year. But it's all Lucic's fault ? Nope, the problems with this team have nothing to do with him. I think Peters hockey is starting to ruin pretty much everyone on the team. He turned Neal into a 6 goal scorer last year and looks like he's doing it to half the players on the Flames this year.

Calgary did ice a pretty sweet line last night

Lucic, Jankowski, rinaldo

You can pretty much summarize how terrible that line is.

I am not trying to troll whatsoever, but I think perhaps you might understand why we disliked Lucic so much. The play absolutely DIES on his stick, he is one of the biggest liabilities on the ice when he's out there and it's actually worse than playing shorthanded because his teammates actually expect him to do his job and they are not in "defence mode" when Milan is out there. I think much of this under-performance has to do with Lucic...he's horrible. It might be embarrassing, but get him off of the roster ASAP.

The league is best when both Alberta teams are performing well.

(p.s. Tkatchuk is a punk...sorry...had to)

- JLO961

You're clearly trying to troll. Lucic has been fine and his hockey skills are way better than the Oilers fans tried to have us believe. He's not fancy, but even when he was successful, he wasn't fancy. He wins battles and usually gets the puck to the guy who should have the puck. He's only overpaid by about 3 million instead 5 million like we were expecting. He's also worth about 8 million more than what Neal was giving the Flames last year.

Bennett was the guy that was killing the plays. It's time to just accept he's not a playmaker at all. Since Bennett has been out, the Lucic line has actually started creating offence.

I mean, im not sure I can ever agree with the statement that a 6M player with 4 assists and 0 goals through 23 games is fine. Theres no doubt that coaching is an issue but by having Lucic on your team, you are effectively turning it into a 3 line team, and if the other lines cant seem to get it going that multiplies the problem.

Their line is creating offense? Theres 4 points between 2 players on that line, in 23 games.

Well, that's part of the issue. Peters changes the lines constantly. But Lucic and Ryan have been together for a while.

Like I said, they've been way better since Bennett's been out of lineup. They've scored half of the team's goals in that period.

Lucic is the only guy playing above expectations. The team's struggles aren't on him. It doesn't help that they have 11 other forwards that are supposed to be better at offence than Lucuc, and they're pretty much all underperforming.

Nothing bad to say about Lucic yet. We had to watch Neal all year last year. The Flames came out ahead with that trade. They saved some cap space and got a much much more useful player.

Shut out in three of the last four.

they've scored 3 goals total in their last 5 games.

Remember when Gio won the Norris and now they are talking about stripping him of the captaincy. Haha. P.S. Is Brodie traded yet?

There's not a single person that matters suggesting stripping Gio of the captaincy.

I am VERY surprised to hear that Lucic isn't at least part of the problem. Good for looch, he's not a bad guy. I do find it hard to believe though...he really REALLLYY sucks. Good for him if it's true (like I watch Flames games, lol).

I don't think I could have undersold Lucic more from his time in EDM, he was a total black hole. If he's playing great in CGY, then I guess that's good...or does that say something about the rest of them. THere are some very good players there, something has to get those guys going.

Giordano is severely overrated though, I will say that.

I live in Calgary. The post-game radio show hosts as well as numerous fan callers were suggesting Gio step aside and make Tkachuk captain. He's the only one who shows any emotion. Meanwhile, Ek thinks upgrading the back-up goalie is a top priority.

I'm guessing you didn't watch any Flames' games last year. Neal didn't deserve a spot in the lineup. Lucic deserves a spot this year. The Flames came out ahead. It doesn't matter what Neal is doing in Edmonton.

It's also not like Neal has been awesome in Edmonton. He's the luckiest guy in the league getting to be the stand in front of the net guy on that power play. He's scored some PP goals, most of them in the first two weeks of the season, and has been awful everywhere else. He has the worst +/- on the Oilers by a mile. RNH is one of the best second line centres in the league stuck on the worst second line in the league because of his wingers.

I said people are talking about Gio giving up the captaincy.

You said nobody is saying that.

I said numerous fans were calling into the post-game radio show and debating this with the radio hosts.

I never said it was the right decision. I could care less if they are drunk or sober. The point stands. Some people are talking about this with Gio. Deny it if you like. But my statement is 100% fact. Nobody suggested Gio give up the captaincy a year ago, or a month ago, but it's being discussed now. The end.

Again, refer to my previous comment.

Here's a tip: when you read something, all the words matter. There were plenty of ignorant people suggesting Gio wasn't a good captain when Guluztan was getting fired.
