Ullmark needs more starts, he is the future and Hutton can be his mentor and back up. IMO Ullmark is following the same path Grubauer did and he is a bonafide number one now. - joegreif17
Ullmark is the future backup here in 2021 when Hutton's contact is over and 6K is the starter

He rarely makes a clean save - ie everything bounces off him. The question most of the time is whether the bounce is out front, off to the side, or a deflection behind him.
Coupled with the fact that he flops like a fish at the first sign of somebody winding up, and his over commitment to anything on the side of the net, and I don't see him ever becoming a number 1.
He gets an occasional good result. But I don't think that says as much about his skill as others may.

Reminds me of how i felt with Enroth. Good backup but could never take the full work load.
as long as Hammond is in rochester, I do not see 6K going up until after their season ends - homiedclown
If there are no injuries to any of the 4 ahead of him, perhaps. I'd be surprised if he didn't get a handful of games by year's end, whether due to injury or otherwise.

this feels like another all our eggs in one basket thing with UPL.. do we have anyone else with any promise behind him? or anyone behind him at all in the prospect pool? i think its clear that Johansson aint gonna cut it.

johansson is putting up ryan miller like ahl numbers
miller was .924 save % .2.32 gaa during his 2 full seasons in rochester
johansson .922 save % 2.30 gaaa in rochester
and johansson is a year younger then miller's last full time ahl season so there is that
I think we have to live with those plays. Never will 100% go away.
But what has impressed me more than anything is his touch on some passes that I never thought he had.
He’s great at deep crosses and even timing on shorter throws has gotten much better - sbroads24
he's been money hitting people sitting on a spot all year, but we never saw him hit people in stride
hes done that a few times now. if he keeps that up, look out.
