For those who want everyone fired, be careful what you wish for.

We’ve had how many coaches turn us down? How many times has Gm candidates turned us down? How long did LaFontaine last?

This place is a black hole of constant turnover

I understand that ..... but holy cow. Get moving. Maybe the team perks up knowing we traded for a forward or 2.

We have heard he’s been trying hard for about a month

is this team better now then it was 2, 3, 4 years ago?

it's nice to think joker, montour, casey, cozens, pilut, 6k etc will make this team better down the road

but there is no guarantee the tracking record, so far with botts, houlsey and kruger is honestly worse then tim murray and disco sucks

at least the sabres were getting better with murray

during the 2 tank years, that led to reinhart and eichel

sabres allowed 248 and 274 goals

the last 2 seasons under botts, sabres allowed 280 and 271 goals

Theyre on pace for more points than any Murray team, that liquified assets to get to 82 points.

Were they, though? There was internal discontent and dysfunction that most likely would have led to an implosion had he stuck around.

Botterill tore this thing down, albeit subtly and banked on a new coach to have a bigger effect than he is currently having. However, there isn't a sense of internal discontent...yet. This team has injury problems up front, and the front office knows this. It may not be a valid excuse, but it appears to be acceptable to ownership for now.

I don't know what to make of Dreger's claim about Botterill trying to make a move. It sounds valid, and reasonable, but I get Jcrag's point, too (although I think it's more than a little over the top): good GM's find a way to make this thing work. Overall, Botterill hasn't done that yet.

He can’t force another GM to make him a good offer though

Do u want him to overpay?
I don’t think making bad trades out of desperation is a good idea

No, but it's not impossible to make a good trade either...unless this year is ridiculously unlike any other season in its 100+ year history. Good GM's figure it out all the time.

they were also on pace last year for more points, yet it didn't happen

bottom line, the team is not getting better

the team still does not stand up for their team mates

the team still lays eggs in the third period of close games (out shot 15-3 in the third)

I don't know if it's the coach, players, or gm

but something has to give, this can't continue and to assume prospects are going to be the saviors, is wrong

move hutton now, call up johansson
move mcabe, scandella, bogo now, call up pilut and borgen
if your leaving asplund with the big club, move casey to wing now, he is not getting it done as a center

and under no circumstance should olofsson ever get 5 more minutes of ice time then skinner

The mental gymnastics on this. Astounding.

"He made himself too desperate! How could he be expected to make a move when he put himself in such a bad position??!!!!"

That's a horrible defense.

Good .... let him burn so he does something. I don’t hate botts. But come on man. It’s what now ..... lost 12/14 games? This isn’t more than a losing funk

This.

You don't have to be a team full of Adam Mair's (although that response was warranted).

Just stick up for one another. Team toughness. Pack mentality.

We have zero of that.

- Powerslave

That's the one thing I thought would develop with a coach like Krueger and his style of play at season's start, a Band of Brothers type camaraderie. Maybe it still will (?)

I guess

That’s not really a guy I’d want
But he can help with scoring and leadership (at least in theory)

I’ve seen worse players proposed on here by ppl

last season when berglund was shown the door there most certainly was discontent

and skinner is pretty pissed right now

I disagree. They played better than the Bruins and Bolts for 5/6 periods in the last week.

Depends on the player ...... if you get me a good player like Johnny hockey or a good player. Sure. Always overpay for the good player

If it’s Sam Bennett and overpay. Then shame on you.

The pennies on the dollar trades have failed botts. The only one was skinner that worked

Ok... how many of these “good GMs” u speak of have made a “good trade” so far this year?

Or is every GM in the entire league “happy” with their roster?

2 wins in 12 games

playing bogo or montour as a winger is the response for the needed change

the secondary scorers, for the most part, are still not getting it done

at some point it's not the other goalies are great, it's our shooters f@cking suck
