A GM that put the Sabres back 5 yrs with his trades and picks. - Buff36
I understand that but i don't see the point of arguing the merits of picking reinhart over drai when that GM has been fired for being bad.
If the current GM made it then lets hash it out, but at this point why bother?

I would move Rhino in a second, especially if you could add a Dman and bring back a few good pieces - Buff36
A month ago i'd call you insane but at this point i want mass turnover so lets do it. Definitely not for a dman though. |

No Dman, take a top 6 center and a nice prospect that is NHL ready |

If we move Reinhart though for a RHD man better then any of the ones we have on the roster, then package one of Montour/Risto ++ for a 2C though I do that. #rostersurgery |

I don't know that I would characterize GMTM as having blown that pick.
These are kids being picked who are simply not fully developed, so it is impossible to project their productivity with near certainty. Had Sam become a 3rd liner, then one could say he blew it...to which he did with Alex Nylander.
In every draft, when you look back 5 years, there will always be repositioning of the top 10. It is the nature of the beast. - IonSabres
This is my point. And to combine it with the guy who said tank for elite players.. the tank was, and forever will be about McDavid and Eichel. Drai is no closer to mcdavid then Sam is to Eichel, further I’d say but that’s because McJesus is (frank)ing legendary. We got a top 5 forward from a draft that’s not turning out to be stock full with top end talent, while he’s also tending up with his career. People want to complain fine, I won’t about him. He’s far from the problem on this team. |

Yes and every big time scouting service had Seth Jones ahead of Barkov. Jessie P ahead of Dubois, who the frank had Moritz Seider going 7th overall this past year ? Who had Zadina falling to 6th the year before ?
Leon went one pick after for crying out loud. How could he have not been in the discussion for #2 ?
The only reason I brought up the other forwards in the draft class is because of production purposes not because they should have been in conversation for the pick.
Tell me with a straight face you wouldn’t move Reinhart for Larkin yesterday ? - Pegullaville
He was, and people saying he wasn’t are using revisionist history |

Yes we are boards, and actually could be a little higher if we would have caught a break or 2, but hopefully Botts can add another legit top 6 or 2 and we should be ready to roll. Finally getting Vesey going is nice to see. |

I feel bad for the people rooting that the GM and coach get fired.
Not because that’s their opinion, they just have to know it’s not happening for 18 months at least, right?

2-1-1 in the past 4 games.
Tough luck against Calgary, Rask stole one for Boston.
Mitts has looked better on the wing, Vesey is on a 4 game point streak, Mojo is getting his feet back under him and should become productive again. Asplund belongs here in the bottom 6.
We have been very good 5v5 lately and if our special teams come around that will help once that starts to dry up a little bit.
Botts is working the phones for a couple of forwards and I am nowhere close to fueling up the tank yet.
Stand down comrades.

I’m with him on mass turn over after that November. And maybe the October was steering me toward greater expectations.
The problem I have is seeing the same mistakes. Same play and disengaged players year after year, coach and gm after coach and gm.... And at that point it simply points to the players that have been here the longest.
While I wouldn’t move Sam. I would move risto, McCabe, out of Larson and Gus, pick one.
And I know botts had to rebuild the organization from Cincinnati to Buffalo and he’s doing a decent job over all. There is finally some talent in the organizational pipeline. But this d man log jam is getting kinda silly. Go find a vet 2c not named jeff Carter.
I know they have had a few more better games recently so maybe December will be a bit more consistent. I’ve just had enough of the soft heartless play. Show me some fight (not face punching), show me some heart and players that want to play. Yesterday was good. Do it again tonight!

I would think not, I mean Krueger been here what 26 games, and it does look like he is starting to see what he has up front, with flipping lines and stuff, still don't understand what he sees in some of his Dman. And Botts was handed keys to a poop show, think he laid out a plan to the Pegula's and they bought in, so yeah don't think he's going anywhere. |

I take mass turnover as “everyone”. (I’m sure he didn’t mean 9,26)
I think things are slowly changing for the better
Ullmark is slowly becoming the #1
Asplund is slowly becoming a regular
Olofsson is slowly becoming a top 6 player
Those are three new things from last year.
Add a top 9 center, get Johansson on the wing and go

Getting a stop gap 2C and putting Johansson and Mitts on the wings, with Asplund at 3C/Larsson at 4C is the best move IMO |

I want to see how they play tonight, because Anderson will be starting. They still have to work on getting bodies to the net, they have to do that tonight. |

Are you ok paying a 32 to 33 year old, 40 point center $5.5M this season and next? |

Yes, that’s why I proposed it. He is not soft, exudes leadership, he can be a good influence for 1.5 seasons while our younger players continue to develop. |
