Lias for Pulijarvi..straight up in a heart beat , we throw in a 3rd rder ..O K

nothing more than that ..who knows L A may become the 3rd line center the oilers are supposed to be looking for , That and a D maybe ...a top right D

I dont know if NYR will make trades by deadline to improve now or later

I want P O's and see it ass a real possible , Full lineup with Zib & chtyil is 3 gms old with no practice time ...
What are we looking for now IF the 2 c is filed with Chtyil ?

PP looked like a bunch of guys with no plan to shoot unless a gun was put to his head

2nd unit looked more decisive than 1st unit ...

Lines i hope to see
Zib KK Panarin

Chtyil Buchny Krieds

Strome Lemeiux Fast

Howden Smith Haley/Mckegg

D trouba shey
fox lindgren
ada Hijak

Notes :
I D K what to do with Staal & playing him ,use him to sit a kid or shey /ada never trouba , but why fix it when it aint broken

I see Georgiev as a trade chip..NOW , with Shesterkin being the NEW back up to HANK and that transition starting ....the passing of the torch slowly this yr & next

WITH : Rykov , Miller , Lunkqvist & maybe 2 other surpises in Rumanen ,Keane etc
where is Ada ,Skje and Hijak fit or look moving into next yr .
I see Lindgren /Fox ( Leetch clone on right side ) as a strrong pair growing every gm

Speaking of crack head takes, take a look at Eklunds latest nonsense. He says Johnny Gaudreau is being talked about in trades.

I'm sure plenty of GMs would love to trade for him, whether the Flames are actually not hanging up on those calls, well that's another matter

Corey Pronman today on prospects he was wrong about, either too low or too high:
Nils Lundkvist, N.Y. Rangers

Drafted: No. 28 overall in 2018

I watched Lundkvist a lot in his draft season, between live and video viewings at the J20, SHL and international U18 levels. I really studied him. I saw an undersized defenseman with a great two-way brain, but I thought he lacked anything special in the speed or skill department. He had looked good versus men and in junior club play, but overall I thought he wasn’t anything special and a mediocre NHL prospect. A year later, my opinion didn’t change much. He was just OK at the world juniors, decent/fine in the SHL but still lacked a wow factor. I knew numerous NHL scouts who shared this opinion, but also some loved the player – and obviously the Rangers loved him as they made him a first-round pick.

This season, Lundkvist is on pace to be the best scoring teenage defenseman in SHL history by a wide margin. He’s having an absolutely monster season. When I’ve watched Lulea, it was clear I underrated his skill and speed. He’s an excellent skater with a good but not great skill level, but his hockey IQ is near elite, as well. At the international level he hasn’t been amazing, but as discussed last year, that’s why you watch the club games.

The aforementioned biases against small defensemen and toward high-end skill defensemen instead of the elite IQ/feet type of defensemen contributed, in part, to why I underrated recent small, less flashy defensemen in the draft, such as Lundkvist (and to lesser extents players like Rasmus Sandin and Ville Heinola, although I wouldn’t call them elite skaters). Lundkvist hasn’t played an NHL game yet, and he may not be some top 10-pick caliber prospect, but he’s a very good prospect, and his evaluation clearly was way off. I’ve since changed my philosophy on this matter to more highly value players with his skill set.

I am definitely interested in the Rangers pursuing Puljujarvi but not right now. He can't play this season and he might be worth less than Andersson right now.

We really do have so many guys for the first time in well, ever. What's crazy is how good he is, and it might be Tarmo that has the better shot to break camp next year.

Will be curious to see how history will judge Holland for not trading Puljujarvi by yesterday's deadline. He allowed an asset to stay in Europe rather than help his current roster. I wonder how Connor McDavid views this decision?

I don't think Jesse can ever walk back into that locker room, and rather than cut bait, Holland held firm in demanding a high return. Its his right of course, but I think he made a big mistake. He should have added to this years team and moved on. Even if he trades him at the draft this coming summer, that doesn't help his team this winter. And are the trade offers going to get any better as time goes on?

This isn't even about trading him to the Rangers --- he should have traded him to any team to end this distraction. We shall see...

I agree, JP isnt exactly dominating over there, so I dont know how much more he can get in a trade. I dont think Anderson straight up would do it, but maybe add in a 4th round pick, maybe a third? No way any more than that.

Maybe before the deadline had passed for him being able to play this season, but not anymore. Trading for an asset that can't help you this season and giving up a potential roster player is bad asset management. Lias is an injury or two away from being back up. Puljujarvi can't even play here.

I do want him though.

Gostisbehere and one of their top prospects along with a #1 pick would get it done I am told.

Trouba is even further proof that CF% is all about zone starts

I mean, just look at it

https://www.hockey-refere.../players/t/troubja01.html

It's Trouba's fault he's out there 59% of the time for defensive zone draws?

Me too but someone had once posted about being careful trading for him, citing that he had played with Mcdavid and couldnt get it done. Maybe it was the atmosphere in Edmonton, who knows, but Id chance an Anderson for JP deal. For whatever reason DQ isnt a fan of Anderson.

I really do think that if you really wanted him, you can get him for a song eventually. Oilers won't hold onto him indefinitely and get nothing for him.

We know he has potential, but it seems like our forward prospects seem to be getting better and better. I'm not sure it's a given even if he wasn't totally a bust that he'd have a future with our core here.

I don't know what Andersson has or hasn't done. I am a little upset with how he has been handled but maybe he just doesn't have the goods? I would be mildly upset to see him go for Puljujarvi but it could end up being Strome for Spooner all over again and I am definitely down for that.

Fair enough, and you're probably right.

I am interested because I think him and Kakko can make sweet music together.

You really can't tell me after watching him play so far this season you are worried about his salary? We picked up a top 10 offensive player who is one hell of a role model for the younger guys.

The cap goes up, salaries are coming off, the Rangers are fine. Just enjoy watching him play and let management worry about the cap.
