You can simultaneously not like the length and term of his contract without also thinking he sucks right now.

The contract is more than likely going to suck in 4-5 years. Right now he's one of the few good forwards the sabres have.

It seems like you are manufacturing reasons to hate him now because you think you're going to hate him later.

I don't expect Skinner to provide full value in an 8 year contract. I expect to "want" to get out from under it in year five or so, unlike Okposo in Year 2.

It’s a team sport, Skinner scored 40 goals last year and we drafted Cozens.

Skinner could score 30 this year and we’ll still draft top 15 and draft another forward that will be more useful to us long term then Skinner at that cap number.
