I agree with trading a goalie should the right offer come along if it looks we fall short of post season.

You want him signed sooner than later, bait him with losing a year on his ELC. You don't want to risk an Adam Fox, Vesey situation.

Of course, but you do that next year. Let him play a couple games in the NHL, and unless he looks fantastic, start him in the AHL the following year. Same progression as Gaudette and Boeser, it's proving to be an effective method to bring new players in.
