I’d definitely prefer one of the lottery forwards... Adding a legit top line talent would make the Podkolzin pick a little less depressing.

I don't omit players unless I believe they have No NHL potential but Vancouver has a lot of soft skill. They need players like Podkolzin to compliment the soft skill.

Top 2 forwards in this draft are strong. Beyond that adding a bunch of undersized forwards. You might start looking like the TBL. Great regular season with very little playoff success.

Lol

I get you but I like like a bull like Pod in the mix. I too am unsure how his offence turns out other than he’s getting not much of a chance in Russia. A dynamic 3rd wheel i project him as.

Not tonight. I have a feeling this is the beginning of a fall out of the playoffs for EDM.
- CanuckDon

It's gonna happen sooner or later, might as well be us that kicks it off for them

JTM was a third wheel until he got to Canucks. There is a role for Podz here to drive play and he could be the fit to solidify the top six as a contender.

From what I’ve seen (less than others, just draft hilights and a few coverage reviews) Podz play strikes me as quite like Bo’s, with a little more physicality even with men in the KHL. Straight line, high tempo, mostly shoot first. Obviously winger not C.

If that is what he brings to the Canucks for the first few years, I think there could be a role for him, but its unlikely that would be top 6.

Can anyone stop those top 3 on the Bruins?

Is Krecji the most underrated 2nd line center in the league?

I have zero worries about Podkolzin, he will be a fine player for the Canucks.

Demko would get a better return and Marky is a better goalie. Easy choice. Demko sucks and can’t even handle an around the world flight with a simple boo boo on his noggin. No more mush heads 😡
- CanuckDon

I think you should find out more about concussions, they are very serious and certainly affected by flights. And looks like he's recovered well from it. His Dr's did a good job keeping him from aggravating factors which is extremely important in recovery.

You might be right he's at Bo's level now. Then he should fit in to top 6 after 2 years development the KHL. Though he's got more of higher profile and scouts have his ceiling as higher. Good bet he may be at E. Kane level skill wise which would be great for the team.

So if Canucks win tonight will we complain that the other team was on the back end of a B2B ?

They have come out strong with some quality looks in tight checking fast paced start.

But of course 1st bounce goes to Oilers for goal.

Eventually one will have to move or you lose one to Seattle for nothing.
- Nucker101

I wonder what the options would be to get around the exp draft. If we singed him until the draft Seattle likely wouldn't select Markstrom at his age on expiring contract.
Alternatively placing him on IR towards the end of season or playoffs might work

I'm not that versed on the exp draft rules so maybe there are rules in place regarding that

I was on that wagon this summer even

Nothing against Marky, but I don't think his timeline matches up well with the core's and and I think he and Demko are similar in ability, Demko may even be better in his prime.

Demko still needs more reps, maybe some people don't realize how crappy Marky was in Florida when he was Demko's age.

I want as strong of a team as possible during EP/Brock/Hughes' prime years

- Nucker101

Protect demko in draft.
But we also have no idea how Markey will be in 2 years either. He could be declining, he could be the best goalie the Nhl has seen, we really don't know yet

What a wonky scenario of events. No call for BB bleeding on high stick and then Canucks win a coaches challenge. Crazy.
