I'm calling this fake news, because Holl has an A on his sweater.
WTF? - Atomic Wedgie Probably a preseason game where they iced next to no one actually on the team.

keefe was young and cocky and thought it was ok to be involved in violent and abusive behaviour.
then eventually things came out - and people said 'it's ok because you were a kid and under influence of an adult - hence you're not responsible'.
great out option - keefe apologized and now he's a great person!!
(people obviously like to forget about his antics while he was already a young adult playing in ahl) |

Makes you wonder, why was Babs so loyal to Marleau.. Last season it was obvious, he wasn't the same player.. - PatC80
My wild guess is that Babs always thought that a vet would make smarter plays late in games - Marleau could be "trusted."
I think Babs was 100% wrong, but you asked me to take a guess. |

Let's not go through this again, a few days ago you posted that people on HB condone rape when you brought up Keefe. |

Except the NHL has a rule whereby you have to dress a certain number of vets in any pre-season game.
It goes back to about 1983 (give or take a year) when the Habs brought an absolute load of stiffs to Toronto. Ballard complained, and the league forced Montreal to send a couple more guys on the afternoon train to Toronto.
I know, because I was at that game!!!! |

I didn't ask you too, but thanks.... for guessing?
Also, why did he trust Kris Draper more than Modano?
No guessing this time |

It's obvious that he is not going to change his opinion, so none of us has anything to gain by engaging him in his argument.
Just let it go. |

Because Draper was a year younger. |

From another hockey website that I won't link to, because I don't want to be banned:
Preseason games and the veteran rule
The CBA (in Article 15, paragraph 4 if you like to read the original material) says teams must dress at least eight “veterans” for each preseason game. It’s significant that word is not capitalised because the definition does not tie out to how we use it in normal conversation.
A player is considered to be a “veteran” if they meet any one of the following criteria:
Skaters who played 30 NHL games the previous season
Goalies who dressed in 50 NHL games, or played in 30 NHL games the previous year
Any player who has played 100 or more NHL games
A current year first round pick |

As well - Franzen got several concussions, was suffering side-effects but didn't tell the medical / coaching staff.
Gets a nervous breakdown.
Obviously Babcock is to blame because he 'yelled at him'...

Other than the fact that Modano was not contributing to the team and there were other guys who could replace him and make a bigger contribution, which is kinda Babcock's job to do?
Did Babcock really have to start the season counting back from 1500 and figure out just how many games Modano needed to hit a completely franking meaningless mark, or should he have just coached the team to the best of his ability?
It wasn't the last game of the season - it was the 4th last game of the season, and the Wings were trying to catch the Sharks for a better playoff seed.
I don't give flying frank - the Red Wings did not owe him a victory lap. If he couldn't contribute (hint: he couldn't - he franking sucked. He only played 2 playoff games that year in 2 rounds, because he franking sucked), he shouldn't be on the ice. - Atomic Wedgie
Nope, babs is monster cause Santos is really invested in modanos 1500th game after reading that people are angry about it. |
