unless that "+" is significant, why the hell would NJ ever make that deal. Ceci is a plug who will be lucky to get an NHL contract after this year
- haywoodjablome

Lol he hasn't been horrible or a huge liability all season so far but people still love to drag his name through the mud and call him a plug and whatever else.

He's had a few gaffes, sure. But so has every other player on the team. I've seen Matthews make more bonehead plays with the puck and of course no one throws around the "plug" remark.

In Ottawa, Ceci made every partner he was paired with worse...........every single dman on that team had significantly better numbers away from Ceci.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Rielly was a Norris contender last year......then this year, gets partnered with Ceci and turns to poop.

- sensarmy_11

Based on Riellys D. imo he shouldn't be a Norris Candidate, he is and always has been below average in that area.

Its not just this season, but its easier to ignore defensive shortcomings when you are scoring a ton

Franzen: ”He was a specialist on handling the media. He creates teams that are hard to bet, you can’t take that from him. But he makes his players very anxious, they are scared to make mistakes and his teams seldom make it past the first round”

Huh. Wonder if we know any team like that...?

About to find out.

The winds of change are a blowing

- Fakepartofme

Pierre the dildo actually made an interesting point this morning. He said that this behaviour was acceptable and the norm, but it didn't make it right. That's sounds like anybody left over from the 90's-late 2000's are in for a bad time.

Any team that is desperate to win, could.
In time people move on.
You mean of the hundreds of players hes coached, 4 -5 have said hes a jerk?
Clearly his ego got in the way and he was a bully, it got results at the time, but things change.

But this 2 min rage people are having that are not tied to situation in any way. Is a little much.

- Fakepartofme

Odogg said 95% of the people he's talked to about Babcock have nothing nice to say about the guy. In fact, it's nothing but bad things. Just not everyone has gone public or had a reason to go public about it.

You talk about a guy bringing down players statistically......................

Oh but now you are going to say stats don’t matter.

Ray Ferraro and Mike Johnson on overdrive today said Babcock might not get another job in the nhl after this, especially as more and more comes out.

No team wants to bring in a guy who is known tormentor of players, gaurantee to rip the team apart.

All I said is he hasn't done much for leaf fans to continue what sens fans started about the guy.

I'd be okay with him as a 3rd pairing and a lot cheaper. If not, I'm more than okay to pass up on him and give a younger player a chance.

oh, Z has been pretty awful on the top line, and Chabot's play has suffered as a result.

the difference is that our coach has started putting him lower in the lineup, playing with Borowiecki....and putting Hainsey or Demelo up with Chabot.......and it's made a big difference.

Z looks good on the 2nd or 3rd pairing.

Z is horrible anything beyond the number 5 spot.

And his contract doesn’t allow him to be that bad.

From the sounds of it, he was a jerk no doubt.
But got results.
I wonder how much bandwagon rage there would be from some if the leafs were 1st overall in the league, babs was still coaching and all this came out? Like say last early November.

Anywho, hes not the coach anymore, time to move on and put our energy towards keefe and what positives he can do.

He hasn’t gotten results since 2008.

I guess being a jerk got pretty (frank)ing stale in the league.

he's been decent on the 2nd pairing, and very good on the PK. his production is useless, and he's been an abomination at 5v5 on the top pair.

he's a little overpaid for sure, but i far prefer him to ceci.....who makes 2-3 hi-light reel bonehead plays every game.

Allen

4.35 million per year.

Not happening.

Why would the Leafs pay for someone who makes 650k less than Freddy, and hardly use the guy.

Blues would have to retain half and we would still have to give up a 2nd round just for that, plus a Johnsson or Kapanen just to make him fit under cap.

Not worth it for a guy who will play 10-12 games from here on out.

And that's why I've said i don't know why people are. He hasn't played horrible to deserve any of that. People just do it cause before we got him, that's what people expected.

I was someone who wasnt thrilled to get him, and expected him to be bad cause of what I've read people say about him. But hes played decent and I've maybe yelled once or twice at my TV to something he has done. He hasn't been a liability at all.

That Fabbri trade is looking good though.

Only gave up De la Rose too.
