he's been decent on the 2nd pairing, and very good on the PK. his production is useless, and he's been an abomination at 5v5 on the top pair.
he's a little overpaid for sure, but i far prefer him to ceci.....who makes 2-3 hi-light reel bonehead plays every game. - sensarmy_11
But he hasn't. Maybe with the Sens he did. But you clearly haven't watched any Leaf games this year.

That Fabbri trade is looking good though.
Only gave up De la Rose too. - Scabeh
I agree, but can Fabbri stop a tank? I don't think so
This team is historically bad...look at their goal differential 1/3 of the way through the season |

Allen
4.35 million per year.
Not happening.
Why would the Leafs pay for someone who makes 650k less than Freddy, and hardly use the guy.
Blues would have to retain half and we would still have to give up a 2nd round just for that, plus a Johnsson or Kapanen just to make him fit under cap.
Not worth it for a guy who will play 10-12 games from here on out. - LeafGuy89
Maybe
Or
Allen and Dotchin
for
Ceci and Hutchinson
Money is even for this year, then trade Allen in off season |

And that's why I've said i don't know why people are. He hasn't played horrible to deserve any of that. People just do it cause before we got him, that's what people expected.
I was someone who wasnt thrilled to get him, and expected him to be bad cause of what I've read people say about him. But hes played decent and I've maybe yelled once or twice at my TV to something he has done. He hasn't been a liability at all. - LeafGuy89
i haven't watched nearly enough leaf games to know how he's played......but if 10 people say he's been awful, and 1 person says he hasn't....I'm much more inclined to believe the majority, especially knowing how awful he's been in the past. |

Why would St. Louis do this? It makes zero sense for them. |

fair enough, my post should have said " made".
zaitsev, while not amazing, has been infinitely better in Ottawa than Ceci was |

Is that kinda like how you can technically replace a glass of water by a bucket of spit? |

Not directly replace....( just fill a spot left from Petro leaving as UFA)
1) Parayko
2) Faulk
3) Ceci

So it's pretty much fair game to Bill Cosby other GMs? That'll make their precious little GMs meeting very interesting. |

Maybe he needed a *really* exceptional justification in order to convince ownership to put a match to the remaining 20ish million still owed to him... |

And therein lies the key point - this alone was worth making the trade to get out from under Zaitsev.
Now Ceci makes Gardiner look like a (frank)ing Mensa president with his on-ice decision making abilities, but still - it's just one year... |

Meh, like anything it's easier to complain than to go out of your way to compliment somebody for something. He hasnt done anything to compliment him for. But most of the time you don't notice him out there which is a good thing. Means he isnt doing anything stupid. Unlike Gardiner or Zaitsev over the years.

You better be damn sure making a *really* good RHD upgrade if you're doing that. In a year or two people will be asking how we have Nylander for so little compared to others |
