In my largely unqualified opinion, reinhart needs to be tied to eichels hip for 65pts, whereas draisaitl surely doesnt need mcdavid to reach 65pts |

And if they were pending UFA’s at 27 years old this year they’d get 14-15 mil per as opposed to 9.
So..... - sbroads24
They both make more than him anyway |

to clarify, both dea (Sept. 23) and lazar (Sept. 30) were waived at training camp and cleared...no need for them to clear waivers again - Michael Pachla
Have to admit that I misread the rule. It's 30 days on the NHL roster or 10 games, not 30 days since he last cleared. Lazar is at 24 days, Dea is at 9.

Eichel’s shooting percentage was 4.8% through the first 25 games last year. Perhaps Skinner should of shot it at him too, or maybe try to make a slot shot attempt with a nice pass.
Skinner has spent more time with Eichel then any other Center, spent more time with Mojo then Larsson.
People complain about Larsson but he’s actually a very good analytical fit with Skinner. He excels at not giving up chances against and plays well defensively, Skinner does not. Skinner generates offence individually and is very good at generating offensive chances. Put a real winger on the right side and things would be interesting. - Pegullaville
He's a good analytical fit for the 4th line. He's never hit 20 points and he's playing with Jeff (frank)ing Skinner |

A. He's played 17:23 per game. 3rd most 5 on 5 time of any forward
B. He was on the top PP unit on Tuesday
C. 28 games is closer to 25% of the season than 50% of the season. It's 34% of the season.
So once again, a bunch of provably false statements from the guy who's rarely ever wrong according to himself.
He's also tied for 15th in the NHL with 13 primary 5 on 5 points.
Which is more than Elias Pettersson, Barkov, Point, Barzal, Reinhart, Patrick Kane.
He's been great this year, again - sbroads24
He needs to do better, and I like the guy. |

And Skinner has scored more goals this year with Sobotka as his linemate. Larsson isn't the greatest offensively, but one thing he does well is put pressure on Dman and forecheck's very well. |

No those players get reupped by their teams as RFA’s and spend their entire careers there.
The salary cap is the same for every team. Doesn’t matter if you are an RFA or a UFA. The team offers the contract. |

Yes, 1st overall picks usually do.
Is your argument now shifting to Skinner is bad and that's why he was traded?
Want me to find all the PPG players who have been traded?

We've all become numb to the fact that Johan Larsson is our second line center.
And we're blaming Jeff Skinner for that
It's up to the GM to fix that |

No, but to use unrestricted free agency as a valid excuse to justify a contract is not the right answer either.
They could of let Skinner walk, our PP would still be 2/39, Eichel would still be on a 10 game point streak, Olofsson would still be on a heater, Reinhart would still be giving us 60-65 points and our record would look similar if we invested that $9M into our middle 6 and brought in additional bodies.
If Eichel goes down tomorrow, we are f*****, that’s why he got 12.5% of the cap space when he signed his deal.
Skinner got a shade over 11% at time of signing and a 8 year term and I’m sorry but I will never back it. |

Not blaming Skinner, want more out of Skinner, not blaming Larsson he is who he is. We all now Skinner would get more chances playing with Eichel, everybody does, but be as it is, whoever Skinner has been with this year he has had plenty of chances. |

No I'm justifying the value of the player.
He's incredibly valuable, was last year, is this year.
As far as the "We couldve spent 9 mil on 2 forwards" point, how exactly? Giving up assets for them? Overpaying those two to agree to sign here?
We need another Skinner. Not two more Connor Sheary's |

Three players actually worth their 3M dollar salaries or two players actually worth their $4.5M dollar salaries are worth more to this team then one player making $9M, unless that player is a top 20 player in the league in which Skinner is not. |

This is your best take on Skinner. Do yourself a favor, stick with this and cut loose the other BS regarding his play and production.
We all know and acknowledge he is overpaid by $1m +/-.
We all know and acknowledge the contract is about 2 years too long.
We also know Bott's hands were tied to a certain degree.
It is what it is.
Consider this for a moment. Just because you are paid 15% more than your true value, doesn't mean your production will actually increase commensurate with the pay. So pissing and moaning he is still producing at the same rate doesn't mean he is a poor performer...it simply means he is overpaid. Nothing more, nothing less.
Move along. |

Thank god Eichel is 10 points over a point per game. Watching people turn on him the way Leafs fans are turning on Matthews would be awful |
