Is it a coincidence that the PK's been awful since Sobotka was knocked out. A truly honest question. - TheSabresTaco
Could be. I dont know enough about PK structure, lanes and gap control to know what the hell is going on. Something bad |

Probably not...the only problem is he doesn't know how to turn PK mode off at 5v5. I think if we make playoffs you probably see more Eichel on the PK. |

possible validity:
prior to him getting injured the pk was 76.9% (23rd)...after, 69% (29th)
between sobotka's injury and bogo's return 63% (28th)...in the six games since bogo came back 78.9% (22nd)
just the facts |

So it went from bad to terrible and now it's back to bad. Progress? |

how 'bout a "learn-to-play-the-right-way-all-the-time" year that will have ups and downs? - Michael Pachla
I could dig that, I guess.
Although some say, “if you ain’t first, you’re last.” And that you should with with finish the season winning the Cup, or finishing dead last. |

I'm tired of losing. And am completely done with tanking. |

Thanks for digging this up Pach. I thought we were a lot better pre-Slob injury. But nah, just sucky.. bogo in and slob out is marginally better. |

I’m with ya on that. I think the perpetual tanking machine may have damaged the psyche of this organization and puts questions in the minds of players who may consider signing here. |

Sick of blaming a mindset from 4 years ago. This is what an organization looks like that has a couple young stars and a bundle of inconsistent castoffs, without much of any draft help, especially outside of the first round.
You wanna be better? Draft better. Trade better. Be smart with FA's that fit your culture and system.
Sorry to say it, but this is what the Bills have done. Even their marginal free agents were smart. Kroft is really the only questionable one, but since he was signed prior to the drafting and eventual emergence of Dawson Knox, I won't blame Beane for it. He's got a short contract and it's extremely easy to get out of. |

org wants him getting max play time, regardless of level. When they deem him ready to start in the AHL, that is exactly when he will be called to Rochester. Pending organizational injury. |

The best teams in this league have quality players at all levels. And I can tell you that they're not constructed with players that were traded for mid round picks. |

I thought they literally could not do better in FA than Poyer and Hyde. Brown and Beasley are close |

No but usually teams have guys who were drafted there that end up panning out.
Which has been problem #1 here for years.

Sure. Why not. Second year in a row Huts plays lights out then regresses to average to below avg. Did I see that Botts was in discussion to trade him? |

Those aren't even Beane's guys which is ridiculous. They fit like a glove.
What's funny about football is how much more geared players are to certain systems. Reading Marcel's article about Smoke just makes you think, sometimes, usually, these second rate players, backups, what have you, just need a real opportunity to shine on the right team.
Our offensive line is 3 castoffs and two draft picks. Two of those guys were dirt cheap. Both of our top WRs, like both of our safeties, thought much more of themselves than their respective teams that let them walk. Lorenzo, Philips, Hughes, Wallace, Spain, Feliciano.. bunch of nobodies, all led by a QB that everyone knew would fail. |

blues ahl team last season was last in their division
year before when caps won, their ahl team was last and their echl team got bounced in first round
when pens won the year before that
pens ahl team bounced in first round
echl team missed the playoffs
if anything they trickle up with the big club being the last to succeed

Big difference between your mid rounders panning out and acquiring players for that cost. |
