This

Jesus christ, I dont care what round a useful player is taken in. I dont care if a better player was taken after.

Is he a useful player? Yes.

Move onnnnnnnnn

Let's get more good players

- jcragcrumple

I use him and a D while he still has good value for an upgrade for a better forward. Sometimes trades are used to upgrade talent and not add to your inconsistent talent.

You are paying for production, he to me even if you want to say Diminishing returns is not hitting that production, no matter who he has played with, he has has plenty of scoring chances. I am not saying to get rid of him, just want more from him
- Buff36

He isn't a machine, you can't just turn a dial for greater output. He is who he is.
I think everyone agrees he us overpaid by ~$1m.
His 8 year average shot % is 10.7%
2019 ytd is 10.8%

YOU PEOPLE need to adjust your expectations to reality.

Well yea I like the 2017 Altima I drive it’s pretty dependable. But if it costed as much as BMW 3 series I’d be discontent.

The Nissan Altima is a Toyota Celica for poseurs.

He's a consistent 20-25 goal scorer with an underrated 2-way game. He is very consistent, and his point totals have gone up every year. He's a point and a half off his pace from last year. Projected for 58 right now. I'm far more interested in accruing additional forward talent than subtracting him

He’s not playing. Sadly. Probably still 6-8 weeks out. Not sure who’s left for them to look at? McCan although I don’t see that... gally? That’ll be an interesting scouting report....

reinhart

They make money and are supposed to be part of the core. Or should I complain about half of the roster that probably won’t be here next year in all likelihood ?

Sometimes you get Eichel, sometimes you get Nolan Patrick

We got Reinhart. It's fine. He's good.

- jcragcrumple

Reinhart, Eichel, Barkov, Laine, Svechnikov, Kakko, Byfield, Patrick.

So yea at least we didn’t get Patrick I guess...

I'm sure you said the same thing during the rising and maintaining of mediocrity in the later Darcy core years with Vanek, Miller, Pominville, Roy, Connolly etc and that none of them could be touched either. Sometimes teams need upgrades in talent. The only untouchables for me are Jack, Dahlin, Cozens, UPL, this year's 1st and maybe another prospect or two. The Joker would cost a lot, and Ulmark isn't going anywhere. The rest of them if an upgrade could be had I'd listen for a trade or two.

Page after page of this nonsense and Reinhart is 7 points behind Laine and 8 behind Svech. And he's ahead of Laine on goals

This is a horrible hill to die on

Why not take a crack at Mittlestat and Tage not living up to expectations.

They both cost first round capital and neither has made *any* meaningful contribution in the NHL well beyond 2 years after their draft class.

That’s very precious draft capital we spent to get essentially ZERO.

Jack Eichel was once compared to Derek Roy.

Wasn’t worth $10M. Was underachieving until 10 games ago.

The stuff you would have read the last 3 years would have made you cringe.

Saying anything about Reinhart or Skinner though boy watch out.

The expectations for Eichel are some reason vastly different than the ones for Reinhart despite the same draft status.

That's what message boards are for, especially if you want more from a your team and players that hasn't made the playoffs in a long time.

My personal belief is that those two never reached their full potential because the Sabres were never able to find a solid 1C. They were really good players who did the best they could considering the circumstances

So that's fair, I am an apologist for them

Yeah, I know but it just so happens I am limp when it comes to Reinhart and Skinner. Not sure having both of them in our top 6 will get us to the promised land.

Were singling our players on pace for 32 even strength goals, and another guy on pace for a solid season though.

Why are we not on Hutton, Rodrigues, Okposo, Sheary?

Reinhart and Skinner are legitimately like 2 of the 6 really good players we have
