Exactly. The legislation being new doesn't change that this has been an issue for a long time. Society had a problem going about how to tackle as much as well, which is why the bulk of initiatives have been around solving mental health issues, but 'ending the stigma' which has prevented people suffering through it from not wanting to come forward for so long.
If one thing on hockeybuzz is dependable is that ignorance is bliss. - joel878
I think it's odd that with everything that the NHL pumps into you can play and all that, there's not a single player out of the 800+ active NHL players that is out |

Sure its been around for a long time.
The legislation for it hasnt been, and the open discussion about it and readily available knowledge about it hasnt.
Specially in a sporting environment. - Fakepartofme
Sure. I'm pretty sure we're in agreement here. I (mistakenly) jumped into this at a time when one person had said the employer doesn't have any responsibility, and another who clearly has no brain jumped down my neck and said I was making poop up when I said they do and its been legislated.
I specifically stuck to that aspect of saying yes, there is... And that's it.. Because I didn't want to be involved in the semantics of it like I seemingly am now.
That's all I said. There is legislation and the employer now has a role according to the relevant legislation. That's it. Anything above that is more than I care to debate about. |

I feel blessed that my post last night triggered grown men to cry about a guy getting yelled at by his boss. It makes me wonder what they do for a living. Have they ever yelled at their kids? Have they ever yelled at anyone. I had no idea we had so may buddhists on these threads. - aminnes
I haven't taken the vows or anything, but I do practice at a Zen centre. Not sure if Christians or other groups are more pro yelling at people. It's certainly unskillful, as Babcock eventually found out. Yelling at children is also unskillful. |

While i agree.
But in sports, raising your voice is fine once in awhile with adults. It can motivate when used properly and sparingly.
Babs has achieved results.
Just not playoffs recently |

Raising your voice in sports sparingly, sure. When I hear stuff like he'd go off on anyone for no reason, that sounds bad. Or O'Dog saying there are coaches that were hard to play for but you love and that he doesn't know a single person who feels that way about Babs.
Guys seem to be saying hard-working coach, bad guy, and that may be part of the reason his results have had diminishing returns. |

I don't know how many lengths I have to go to avoiding saying as much, but I have zero interest wasting my time and what little patience I have on you. You just plain, aren't worth it. What some might refer to as a lost cause.
I put the relevant info out there, if someone tells you where the toilet paper is that doesn't mean they're going to come wipe your ass for you. You're going to have to fill your I FoUgHt WiTh SuM1 On Duh InTeRnEtZ quota somewhere else because I honestly don't give a single solitary (frank) what you have to say. - joel878
