and Tarmo, and Rykov, and Nils. If we can get a stud like Nylander, I'm all for ADA. He's probably on a track to get a 4-5 mil contract if he keeps this up. ADA is a great player and it would be really hard to lose him, but this seems like a perfect situation to cash in your chips so to speak.

Nylander is about a .75 ppg player for his career and is only 23 and is signed long term to a cap hit less than Hayes. Anderson had one good year and is meh every other year in his career and will be a RFA at 25 at the end of the season. So yeah, gimme Nylander over Anderson all day.

Getting Buch and ADA would help them out alot. Buch is signed for another couple years at a lower cap hit than Nylander and would probably be a monster in that lineup. ADA would automatically be a top 4 guy for them and stiffs like Ceci and Muzzin come off the books for them next year. They have to replace those guys, but having a rock like ADA already there probably lets them explore much cheaper options in UFA.

They would be gambling alot on Georgie in the trade being a full time starter. However, they probably could give him a pretty cheap 2-3 year contract and if it pays off, Andersson would be gone after next season. That's more cap savings for them.

It makes me feel icky helping Toronto get out of potential cap hell fairly easily. However, like I said this trade would make too much sense for both teams.

I don't see us needing to throw in a pick. New York doesn't NEED to make a deal like this, Toronto does. That has to count for something. That being said, I would sign off on either of these (minus the pick!) and I choose Petan, simply based on age and what I remember from his World Junior tourney.

Reminds me of a time a friend came to visit me in college. He wasn't a particularly handsome fella, but he knew a girl that went to my school that he'd hooked up with and wanted to go meet her but needed help navigating campus to where she lived. So I walk with him to meet her and we're walking across a field and she's meeting us halfway. As we get closer I'm looking at her and going "holy poop this girl is actually really pretty cute, how the hell did he hook up with her?!?"

Then she opened her mouth. If you bite down your back teeth and have a lot of spit in your mouth you'll get the sound: (his name is Charlie) "Shhharlie! Itsh shho nishe to shee you!!!"

It took all of my energy to not burst out cackling, but it definitely made everything a little more understandable
