NYR may have pitched Lias Andersson to Oilers for Puljujarvi but Edm doesn't feel the Swede plays with enough pace to his game. Some only see him as a fourth-liner - jimbro83
For a kid with what seemed such a high compete level, he's really not living up to his potential. Right now he isn't showing he's anything more than a 4th liner. Might be a project that takes a few years to develop into something more. |

Why would you want a fan of any team to come root for the Yankees? Don't you have enough fair weather/fake fans as it is? |

At least Rangers brass haven't called him a 4th liner yet...you know like John Mucker did with 18 year old 1st round pick Manny Malhotra. |

Many friends of mine are Mets ( Mutts as I like to call them ) fans. We always have fun with good back and forth banter. Have attended a few of the games with inter-league play over the years. I like to tease them in the more recent years because of the opposite directions of the two teams. Mets never recovered from losing the Subway series!
I always feel the more the merrier for the bandwagon, but I am old enough to remember our lean years too! You and Jan are always invited to join... |

Had a nice 18 yr career as a third line center, almost a 1k games, he had an eye injury that stopped him from hitting that 1k plateau.

Maple Leafs man, just wow
seemed like Keefe turned that ship around, but they are back in hell
Rangers only one point back of them with 4 games in hand
what a poorly constructed team in every way |

lol at any mention of Muckler. Of course our problem was the next couple coaches that followed made Muckler look like Scott Bowman |

It's what happens when you decide you want to pay like 4 guys half your cap and they are all forwards. Honestly, if Hedman ever craters Tampa will be in the same boat. |

They absolutely should have traded Marner
and just looking at them next year, they currently have a 64 mil cap hit with only 10 guys signed with Rielly being the only defenseman (but they do have Sandin, Liljegren and a few others in the AHL still on their entry level deals)

I don't think I can remember a young team with such promise flaming out so quickly. They have 3 generational players currently on the team, and they may already be looking at a prolonged period of bad times. I legitimately think this may wind up worse than the Oilers. |

I really dont believe in ever giving guys coming out of their entry level deals 11 million a year instantly
John Tavares was in the league a long time, earned the right to go UFA and sign with highest bidder
Auston Matthews got his cake and is able to eat it too
11.6 million a year to purposely be able to say he makes more than Tavares (which was no coincidence), and he'll be a UFA on July 1st, 2024 when he is still only 26 years old

In a vacuum, I'm OK with the Marner contract. As much as we say that Panarin is worth every penny and then some, Marner was/is younger and averaged quite a bit more points per game in his career and is just hitting his prime. They could have pushed him a bit more and maybe gave him the Nylander deal with maybe an extra 1-2 million AAV, but at some point Marner was going to be paid an insane amount of money.
That being said, I think you are right. They should have looked at their cap situation and bridged him for something like 7-8 and a couple years. You are gambling that you'll have to pay him even more when the time comes, but it gave you some time to deal with a few issues with your roster and hope that the cap goes up a decent amount by then with the new CBA. |

I'm stoked to see Rykov in action. I know it's going to take him a bit to not only work off the rust, but to get used to North American ice, but when he does I want to see him on the big club sooner than later. I really think he's going to be good once he puts it together. |

Sad for their fanbase, but true... yet remember STL last year, they for sure have the talent to turn the ship (still the grit is definitely lacking currently). |

You cant close your eyes ,stock pile prospects & picks eventually you have to be ready to make the 3 for 1 deal to find the Grade A OR Pay for F A talent ,with issues like an expansion draft , players & deals have to be made with concern & surety
Identify the possibles for goal : 1 yr more of HANK , shesty is slotted ,Georgiev is the surprise , Huska is the Conn starter ,future back up to shesty
HAVE TO TRADE GEORGIEV .....BY T D
either SHey or A dA : one has a reasonable contract for 4 + yrs ,the other needs contract end of yr. could pass Sheys deal in annual outlay 5 +
HAVE TO TRADE AdA.... BY T D
Deal with Kreider or Bush. ? now its Buff . who wants his gm.? I think signing him may be best but Buch is neither a power fwd. nor a sniper , not the greatest shot nor stick \handler ...
HAVE TO TRADE BUCH... BY T D
those 3 + Lias + Hijak to fill out deals along with prospects or picks (no #1's)
My biggest concern is what do we NEED to get out of talent pool we are making available to upgrade our team ?
Georgiev -buch-Ada -LA Hijak ,main options + D prospects after top 3/4
Storme may be our 3rd line center and get signed to stay ?
To trade some in a Pkg. why not Johnny hockey in Cal.
need a return like that example , Nyquist dosnt do it for me with Tor.
these teams & others may be ripe for a picking if the rumors of unrest are even remotely accurate , lots of action festering ... |
