When has a superstar not been able to get an A prospect at the deadline? He's the best player available. Someone will pay the price. They always do, and a pretty good defenceman and a 1st round pick isn't what the Devils are going to want. They're going to want an 18-20-year-old with top line, top-pairing potential and a pick if they can get it.

Wow I looked at their roster and they are loaded with RH Defensemen. Subban, Vattanen and Severson. They could use a younger guy with a LH shot that can step in for Greene when he retires. Nobody really fits that mold unless Brodie meets the requirements NJ wants but I doubt that deal would net us Hall. Valimaki probably does but no team would trade for him based on his limited playing time in the NHL.

Anyway I threw it out there just to spark some conversation.

Imo Backlund is a 3C, high time his (2C) spot is upgraded.

Dont think they put Johnny on the 3rd line to get Lucic scoring. Ive been fine with what Lucic has brought to the team, I think they are trying to light a fire under Johnny.

I wonder if Tre is dangling Kyllington & Janko for Pageau. Would be the type of players Ottawa would consider. Doubt our 1st rounder is available this year.

I like the idea of going for Josh Anderson & I wouldnt be opposed to going after Wood from NJ, maybe a Janko & Frolik for Wood & a 3rd? Get some cap space & Wood plays a sandpaper game I think we need more of in the bottom 6.
