Yes, that is what I meant. Markstrom and Stecher should get the deal done.
- Reubenkincade

I am 100% against signing Markstrom to an extension. As good as he has gotten, he has 3 career shut outs, 3. The Rangers back up goalie just recorded his third. Team will never win with a guy who can’t win one on his own when needed.

So yes, that looks like a pretty good package

Edit - maybe I should have said aller in...

You're right, but that is not the mindset people have in that situation. When you work or exist with that kind of power dynamic it's a completely different feeling, it's easy to say "just do this instead" when it's not you.
- NorthNuck

Exactly, it’s more the power dynamic that held people back from retaliating. Easy for a random to say what they would have done. Plus, these guys were the guys on the bubble/younger, so they had much more to lose if they stirred the pot.

Canucks are going all-in, Taylor Hall will be a Canucks in a few short days.

Great. We need some draft lottery luck.

That would be excellent, getting either Lafreniere or preferably Byfield.

Agree I like Marky and how he's improved but will never be 'that guy'.

I doubt we outbid for Hall, and we really shouldn't be trading for him.

I think you can't know until you actually see the guy in the playoffs. Some are able to elevate their game when the stakes are high. Part of the reason I want us to make it to playoffs this year is to see how Marky does.

Zucker is not as good as Boeser and also 5 years older.

Zucker has broken 50 once. Boeser done it 2 for 2.

- manvanfan

Two words for you: Kyle freakin Connor.

Broken fifty points 2 for 2. Has more points than BB and plays a better all around game. This season BB has one more assist (26 points) than KC (25 points). KC is two months older than BB.

I think it's the perfect trade if you want to get rid of BB.

If the Canucks don’t make the playoffs, but Markstrom finishes top third, statistically, how much would you be willing to pay him? He’s going to be looking for multiple years (4 would be my guess) and a significant bump in pay ($6m ish). Might as well trade Demko if that’s the case.

So, Boeser and a 1st for Consey?

In that scenario, I would probably try to get him at 3x5, but realistically, I would pay him as high as 4x5.5.

If he keeps up his level of play I don't think that's a contract you would have trouble moving next year.

1st too? I don't think so. I'm not saying it would/will/could happen. I'm not a Brock hater, I just like KCs game better than Brock's so whenever a trade scenario comes up I post about it.

TBH, it sucks that JT has to hound him to keep motivated and hustling. BB gives up too early on plays, whether defensive or offensive. Is that a personality thing or is it an experience thing?

Excellent point of course. Call it a hunch from what I've seen so far out of Marky's evolution Demko has a higher ceiling. But Marky for sure is the better goalie as of right now.

Ya I’m sure WPG likes Connors game more than Boeser as well. So why are they dumping him? Please keep in mind that regardless of how you respond you will likely get a heavy dose of salt 🧂

Ya from what I've seen of Boeser this year so far Kyle Connor is a notch above him for sure...for right now. Man that Connor plays every shift like it's his last. Love to see that compete level here.

I have to wonder if there is a rift in the room? If Miller is continually on Boeser...WTF is going on?

How can you of all people poop on KC? I would think he's exactly the kind of player you would like. Skilled, young, with truculence. What's not to like?

I agree with you, it's fantasy. But if people are going to talk Zucker (which is dumb IMO) then I'm talking Conner damnit.

Sounds like Podkolzin

Vancouver does need a forward player with top notch speed. A dynamic they don't have.

I'd rather win the BOS/STL type of team play/depth than the Oilers/ Leafs
