Likely until the next (frank)ing game which isn’t until Saturday for (frank) sakes 🤮 - CanuckDon
I might try and get a short ban, I can't take much more of this hugathon. |

The one thing for me is I'm not really fond of the "grow some balls" argument. I feel like the question gets asked and answered over and over.
People often feel incapable of taking action because those who are stepping out of line have some sort of power/influence over them/their careers. In a lot of cases(not all) you can't really blame people for not stepping up immediately.
On the other hand the one thing I do find disheartening in these stories is when players have been abused/berated and the leadership group on the team didn't help them. What's the point in having a letter on your jersey if you're not going to stand up for your teammates? - NorthNuck
I'm not necessarily saying to grow some balls, but if this issue is giving them Mental Trauma and they need help coping with it, why make it so public? If they are just out for revenge on how they were treated, grow up and move on. |

There's definitely a few guys out there just doing it out of pettiness, and that's sad and you're right they need to move on.
The only problem with trying to keep it private is if it involves someone who's still working and they get fired as a result, it's gonna become public either way. Social media is extremely effective at making change happen quickly in these kinds of situations, and I don't mean that as a good thing. |

I hope Crawford kicked Avery hard enough. He should get the Jack Adams for that. |

It’s gross. Hard to get banned these days. Maybe a visit to the leafs thread will do the trick |

That's the other side of the spectrum, too easy to get banned in there. A friend usually gets a 3 month ban after the Leafs are eliminated in the 1st round. |

My last one was for using the term "anti-semitic".
Edit: getting banned for calling Kesler a panty waste, was my favourite. |

In a sport that allows fighting even encouraged it at times things were very grey on the macho front of how to react. The bully method to coaching is now getting rooted as hockey culture shifts to player safety. - NuckUp
You sound resentful there's fighting?

HF can be fun. I’ve been banned for 10 of the last 12 months. I stop in to like a few of Nuckers posts and then proceed to call poster idiots and salt eaters. Then I get a warning from a mod and I attack them. Lengthy ban, rinse and repeat |

They probably banned you for spelling it wrong and not knowing what it means. |

Leafs couldn't win under the dbag and hard ass Babcock and now they aren't winning under the new 'feelings' coach...maybe it's the players? just a thought lol |

Really not what I intended just making an observation. I'm just stating a fact that within a fighting culture physicality to the level of abuse was tolerated. It actually was admired.
Coaches would even threaten on the benches to fight each other. Last I remember was Torts on Flames lol. But the NHL PR is image conscious and wants to appeal to a wider market and not be a WWE type sport.
With the era of the goon being dead those roughing up coaching practices are coming out. So what could have been overlooked in the past as "manly" behavior of a coach is now under the spotlight of abuse of power. Obviously the older incidents where the "victim" has nothing to lose is coming out first. |
