So i'm cursing at the the TV last night and dumping on Matthews pretty hard. There is soooo much more that he could be giving with his effort..... .my buddy who is not the most politically correct individual responded with "Matthews really doesn't have a great work ethic. It's because he's half Mexican but plays full Mexican".
I laughed pretty hard and now I'm racist....great....

It’s more of AM being “clever”. He figured it doesn’t make sense to exert himself overly and risk a major injury, when all he has to do is coasting along for 3 years and then kick a notch up in the last 2 years, just in time for another huge contract which will ensure next 3 generations of his offsprings living comfortably.
As a bonus, he can do all that out of TO, where people won’t remember how he didn’t really care on many nights.
The guy doesn’t have any incentive to get better. I mean if he does get pummelled while trying right now, there is no one fighting for his safety. Why should he risk it?

There was a collective orgasm here when Lou left and Dubas got hired. Lou is washed up, they said. The brightest young mind, they said.
Just goes to show good looking guys reciting buzzwords don’t always know what they are talking about... another great example in Toronto: Ross Atkins. National example: Justin Trudeau. |

we had smart hockey people; and we're building a winning culture.
half are gone and the team starts losing.
but it's okay because the panthers have bob. - Tumbleweed
The leafs would've been in a much better situation if Lou and Mark Hunter were still around, but B-boy Brendan really wanted his bookworm boy band running the show so here we are today.

Justin Trudeau would be a great piece of the Shanaplan. Another unfit and incapable member of the team? Why not, let's bring that dbag in! |

Finally the CH on the jersey would make sense |

He's the second highest paid player in the league. There are probably 30+ guys I take over him.
Bro. He's scoring 60 this year so 11.6 is more than reasonable. |

Mark Hunter was a complete an utter bust.
The Leafs' drafting outside of the top 5 during his tenure was franking horrible.

Considering his next contract starts in 23-24 that would probably be a great hometown discount |

Ditto with AM. With the terms they agreed to, Dubas should have at least 5-6M to play with after WN, AM, MM.
But noooooo, they deserve their super max deal before they showed they are the best 1-2 in the league, because they showed the potential to be the best.
How’s that working out, eh? I mean our underlying numbers are so good, they deserve every cent. |
