Wood and Gusev for Gagner (cap reasons), Puljujärvi and Broberg. - Wildschwein
I would certainly sign off on that as much as I don't want to trade Gusev. |

Is broberg broken ? Seems like good value for Woody ( hate that you included the goose though lol ) |

No, but the Oilers currently have Bear, Jones, Bouchard, Lagesson, Samorukov and Broberg for rookie/prospect defensive depth. Thus I’d move him if it meant Gusev comes to the Oil. |

Gusev has game, just needs structure. I’d love to see him as an Oiler. |

Dude we're having Simmonds, Hall (I assume), Greene and Vats coming off with only Bratt due for a raise. The caps set to go up too. We are cap flexible.
And even if we weren't, 3 mil isn't making a difference - willschulme

Gagner = cap dump
Puljujärvi = has value, but refuses to play for the Oilers
Broberg = high end D prospect
For
Wood = energy bottom 6 winger with tolerable contract
Gusev = affordable top 6 winger for Nuge
Sorry Bone. I’d do it. |

EK doing his annual “What garbage will your team give up for Hall” edition. - RubberBiscuitz
Yeah, it's a joke what people are offering. Lots of older players or the crap they don't even want on their own teams. Only a few truly made sense

Gagner = cap dump that's off the books at year end
Puljujärvi = has value, but refuses to play for the Oilers
Broberg = high end D prospect
For
Wood = bottom 6 winger that negates the cap savings from Gagner
Gusev = affordable top 6 winger for Nuge that's unlikely to stay
We burn 7.25mil of our cap space next year for a top-6 winger that's far from a sure thing to produce- let alone stay after producing- and a bottom-6 winger on a 2.75mil contract for two more years after this one. Making such a trade all but assures we wouldn't be able to add a proven top-6 winger in the offseason and almost certainly guarantees Kassian will be hitting UFA.
I see no benefit to making such a trade as wingers as good or better than Gusev will be available as UFAs without needing to give up our recent top-10 pick. There's probably better available for less in-season. |

When you said a fast skater that creates a ton of opportunities but could not finish then, I assumed you were talking about Hall, not Wood. |

I understand why Miles is being shopped, but i disagree with the decision.
U can't teach speed. you can teach positioning, can work on shooting, build chemistry and teamwork.
Miles underdevelopment is exactly why Hynes was fired. Same for Bratt, Zacha, John Q, Noesen, list goes on...
At year start of year 5 , system should working and majority of players development would coincide with the system. Neither happen.
That proven veterans have come in and not only struggled but are 90% shell of their former selves. Shows that Hynes could not take the next step in coaching.
That's just my two cents
Hope Wood is not traded, but if so, the GM that does get him for a discount will look like a genius in the long run. |

It doesn't matter what the crazy offers are. The only thing that matters is what Ray Shero is able to get for Taylor Hall...
I'm feeling pessimistic about it. I think Taylor Hall is totally intent on becoming a free agent and not interested in signing an extension with a new team.
I don't blame him for that. Just saying it doesn't help us. |

The Taylor Hall trade will be much more simple then most of the garbage offers on Eks blog. Top prospect, 1st rounder and additional later round picks is the likely return. Whoever can come closest to that wins. If a roster player is coming back it's likely a top 4 dman with a 1st rounder and additional picks. |

eh. I'm neutral on this. I wonder what we'll even get for him. Maybe package him with Hall? Could we get a 3rd for him?
As great as Hall is, IF the package is stellar, then it's worth trading his 28yr old 10mil cap hit. . right? It's not easy to draft a Taylor Hall.. |

At this point its a matter of when, and not if, we trade Hall. I assume Shero has set a deadline and when that day comes he'll take the best offer, unless he has his socks blown off with an offer sooner. He's not going to risk losing Hall for nothing. |

Zajac, Palms, and Nico most likely. Those 3 are already in the rotation/injury fill-ins with the As. Maybe Coleman gets a letter? |

Neither Pacioretty or stone got an A prospect and a first, why should Hall? Oh and they signed contracts.
Hall with get either a 1st, B prospect and maybe another player OR an A prospect, 2nd and maybe another pick or player. |

I think you're right, likely A prospect and a 2nd with a 1st condition with sign/deep run. That said - Hall is more dynamic than patches or Stone, but less durable which is an important asterisk. |

Hall is back down to earth. He’ll continue with his 60 point seasons, maybe throw in one 75 point season.
We’ll see

I think Zajac because he's oldest but only one year left abd he wont be resigned.

I just don’t believe they’ll get both a 1st and an A prospect. Especially not a 2020 1st.
I would be livid if my team gave up a dynamic prospect and a 2020 first that could arguably be one of the best drafts since 2003 |
