Don't see them trading him just yet. Offseason or next year if the guy under him keeps performing.

Like how the caps waited to trade grubauer until they were confident in Samsonov. Also, they still had Holtby at a good age so no need to rush.

It’s good to know that all that matters in Leaf land is how many points our players get. I am sure that is all they care about as well, padding their stats so they can get rich.

Who cares about actually winning. Points and possession, that’s all. Even when possession consists of circling aimlessly around the outside and taking few pucks to the net. Hell, if this team didn’t have Hyman and Tavares would any of our forward be found within 4 feet of the opposition net?

How muxch shoul a guy in 2016 have gotten with those stats? It's weird having people spin it that he could have gotten 10+ MILLION but took far less...

Listen, I like Matthew. But lets not pretend he is something that he is not. He is a young extremely gifted hockey player. Will he be the leader this team needs? That remains to be seen. This year has been disappointing imo. Points don’t count for everything...
