He hasn't had one in a while but I love when Jake loses his sh!t, complete flip out and he's throwing. We have a ton of guys that would immediately have dropped em (not saying they'd win the fight), Giroux would as well. I thought we were physical last night, good game, just couldn't buy one. Just don't come out slow Saturday, need to end that game in the first.

These are acceptable losses to me. i mean, it sounds crazy to say, but we just got beat by a hot goaltender, and had the chances just couldnt deposit one into the net. we played hard, the ice was clearly tilted in our favor majority of the game, and the game really wasn't decided until that EN goal. Last year we had losses that were so agonizingly painful to watch, the 8-2 drubbing by the Sharks on home ice comes to mind immediately, but this one we played all the way to the end.

this team is different, the philosophy is clearly changed for the better, we are definitely headed in the right direction. I mean, for a team with so much youth and new guys being injected into the lineup, imagine what this team will look like with a few months of road trips and playing together under their belts? Hayes said it himself (although what else would he say) but tightest group he's ever played with. not bad.

Seatgeek had 200 level seats center ice for $21 (fees included). That's cheaper than standing room lol

If you look at all the players, and AVs in the blog, post game comments its all positive. Can't win em all, we play like that we win more often than not, good things to take from that one.

Absolutely right. pumped to see how they come out tomorrow after being beaten by the Sens a few weeks ago. Hopefully the loss last night with a little revenge factor helps them to put a beating on them.

23rd in attendance despite playing very well. Fans have been beaten down over the last 40+ years, so they aren't shelling out money to go to the games. Can't say I blame them.

The Flyers aren't that juggernaut team yet that is gonna win in almost any circumstance. They didn't play poorly last night, actually they played very well for long stretches. The Coyotes are a pain in the A team that always seems to be in the perfect defensive position with their bodies and sticks. Really the biggest difference was that they converted on the PP in the 1st, and the Flyers didn't. At this point the Flyers are way ahead of what we could have dreamed of so I'm happy. Well except with the epedemic of lousy refs in all pro leagues. I guess all you can ask for is for them to be consistent and stay out of the players way on the ice. That was certainly not the case last night.

Agree 100%. They have priced the middle peeps right out. To go there and spends upwards of hundreds Of dollars is not a wise investment. Despite somewhat winning don’t think many are sold. I am glad they are staying away as its long overdue.

Not sure if you are referring to Hayes call but OEL needs to be ready for that, how many times in every game are little cross checks thrown in the back along the wall, probably over 50 a game. There is responsibility on the player to be ready for contact idc that it was from behind, guy folded like a baby deer. Watch a Bruins game, they love throwing those in the back, especially Carlo.

He makes just a shade over the NHL minimum, practices as the 8th D although he's been a forward all his career. Is great with the rookies in particular. He's not hurting the team.
- bmeltzer

right now its not an issue because they would have had someone sitting in the press box as the 13th forward but IF Patrick does come back to play a roster spot has to be made.

So many times players would end up over-skating pucks or failing to coral passes. Could be execution, but I suspect the ice conditions were pretty bad too.

Frost made some questionable decisions. Was up on the revolution row seats and it was apparent he (and others) were forcing passes when lanes were not open. The coaching staff will get it handled frosts skill set is obvious and once he and g are on the same page Watch out

we used to watch TK do a lot of the same stuff. just comes with him being a young player and having to adapt to the NHL where you can't get away with the stuff he could in juniors and even in the AHL.

I don't think it's the 40+ years. The fans, throughout the years, have been loyal. It's only been the last 3-4 years that attendance has seemed to really fall off, and I think it has more to do with the style that the team played over that span.. Draw your own conclusions, as I'm not ready for a 3-page circular debate.

I'm not saying it's the reason they lost, but it seemed like a lot of pucks, for both teams, were hitting the officials last night.

Jake fumbled 3 or 4 behind the net off the top of my head.

There are far more vicious punches thrown than what Thornton hit him with. Yes thornton poked, but mrazek then slashed him and went to get in his face. i think Mrazek was hurt worse when his head hit the ice.
- Peter Richards

which was caused by the sucker punch. Honestly felt like it was lame on Thornton's behalf. If i was Mrazek I would be annoyed no one beat the snot out of him

Semantics really. Fans aren't happy with the on ice product, and it's showing with the attendance.

The 7 D 11 forwards line up may be ok for a game or two here or there but I’m not sure it’s the best plan for the whole month Raffl is going to be out.

Do you really want G and Couts and Hayes getting double shifted for a month? I did see Laughton playing both C and LW last night, but scrambled lines all game maybe not the best idea either.

Thankfully it’s only a month but I could see them trading for a bottom 6 C if the right deal comes along. Too bad Rubtsov got hurt, it might have been a good opportunity for him. I don’t think they trust Vorobyev too much but I guess he’ll get some games now?

I don't agree that its due to being beat down over the last 40 years. there were many great team and good runs over the 40 year. I do agree its probably in part due to being beat down over the last 10 years. and ticket prices. its insane they raised ticket prices after losing in the first round or missing the playoffs the last few seasons. at a certain point they need to stop taking advantage of the fact that the Flyers have a hardcore group of fans that renew tickets no matter what.

So the timing of this article is kind of funny since folks have been talking about Sanheim’s underwhelming and inconsistent start. Although I have to say he and that pair looked good last night, jumping up and playing with confidence.

Officials interfering w/ play is my biggest pet peeve. Then with four guys on the ice, they still miss calls.

Time to replace linesmen w/ drones/cameras, and just have some bouncers w/ skates who jump on the ice to break up scrums.

I agree. The true life time Flyers fans have been treated poorly over the last 5 years in my opinion. The on ice product was not good. The atmosphere at the rink is closer to a library than a live sporting event.

I guess that's what happens when you go from a passionate single owner to a corporate entity.

I personally hate it. Just love the team and the sport too much to give up on them.

I actually had season tickets (I split them with someone so I got 2 tickets for half the games) for about 20 years at one time but gave them up because of the cost. then did 10 games with another person for several years. I still end up going to 10-15 games a season but get the tickets on the secondary market because simply they are cheaper.
