They brought up Vorobyev didn't they? He will probably play on Saturday. 6 D-men would dress in that scenario. - mickel25
Vorobyev has been a bit frustrating. he seems to really play with jump the first few games when called up then his energy level just tapers off. you notice him those few games then not at all after that. he keeps getting good opportunities when called up but doesn't run with it. at a certain point he will run out of NHL opportunities. people may disagree but to me his issue is effort not talent |

Semantics really. Fans aren't happy with the on ice product, and it's showing with the attendance. - PLindbergh31

So I want to throw out a caveat on why I agree with Voracek’s comments about the Power Play and why I side with the players and not with the coaching staff.
1) Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn by. I means ever led this team in points but Simmonds always led the league or top 3 in goals each year he was here. Schenn led the league in PP points his last season as a Flyer. Do you guys have any idea how important the double screen was to the power play and how willing those two were to stand in front of shots for tips and screens and how effective this approach was? JvR just might be taking a lot of criticism he doesn’t deserve because he’s doing it alone. You have to have guys committed to the role they were placed in like Simmonds and Schenn.
2) Morgan Frost is a very nice player but he’s not NHL seasoned. He’s not sharp at the moment. Frost hasn’t earned the right to be on special teams right now and last night showed. Hayes should be earning that money.
3) Last point is obvious. Players playing on the half wall should have their sticks having the net and away from the boards for one timer shots. Simple. |

yes but sitting him last night is odd to me. |

We've seen those players at the NHL level this year, and though it was a small sample, none of them are ready to be NHL players right now. - PLindbergh31
hagg isn't an nhl level fwd if you want to use that they are not ready. you will never convince me hagg should be dressing as a fwd when they have other options. |

I would go Provorov, Ghost (Jake's Spot), Giroux, Coots and JVR. Coots and JVR are the net front guys. I would like a better shot on the right side than what Voracek offers.

His presence does not become an issue until everyone is healthy and a better player is sent down because they do not have enough roster spots. Not really a problem until NoPa comes back.
They could waive him. However, I am not 100% sure that is what they will do. - mickel25
You don't waive a glue guy, who helps NoPa, and makes a touch above the league minimum. He is a vital key in the cog of the team that Charles Emerson Winchester Fletcher has built for your viewing pleasures |

Cannot tell you how much I miss the Spectrum. I was one of the 17 million fans there when they beat Edmonton in the 6th game in '87 (it was crowded), no seriously I was actually there. The place was full every night, the stands actually moved from the feet stomping on the ground...it was alive. Now they try to pump the crowd artificially with obnoxious music and continuous video camera related B.S. My last live game was when they lost in the playoffs to P'Burgh 2 years ago. Getting the crap knocked out of us and fans jumping and screaming because they were being shown on the jumbotron screen. No thanks, I watch every game from home for that reason, not because they haven't been good (they haven't till this year). Sorry, as I reach my 70's I've become the get off my lawn guy. What happened to the refs and linesman reaching behind and jumping up on the boards to get away from the pucks and players? It's not just hockey...quality of refs seems worse in all sports, but that's probably due to better coverage in Hi-def and on replay. |

Clever. Proving you have no idea what you’re talking about on a daily basis. |

23rd in attendance despite playing very well. Fans have been beaten down over the last 40+ years, so they aren't shelling out money to go to the games. Can't say I blame them. - PLindbergh31
The venue and the pricing also have changed. It appears to be no longer appealing/ affordable to the die hard blue collar fans. |

i was there as well. the place did rock but to be fare that was game 6 of the finals. but i do get your point, the new arenas just aren't the same. the first thing i noticed when i went from my season tickets at the spectrum to the wells fargo was how far away i felt. I was in the second level at the spectrum and to the flyers equivalent seats was next to the last row in the upper level.
I sat around the same group of people for years but when we moved to the new arena they split us all up. so disappointing but i digress |

yes they dressed 7 dmen who all played defense. Hagg didn't take a shift at forward. I agree that dressing 7 dmen isn't ideal if that is what you are saying |
