yes they dressed 7 dmen who all played defense. Hagg didn't take a shift at forward. I agree that dressing 7 dmen isn't ideal if that is what you are saying
- nastyflyergirl

Everyone knows Ghost would get the first reps at forward. Duh!

What happened to the refs and linesman reaching behind and jumping up on the boards to get away from the pucks and players?
- DANCER

The glass is too high to do that now.

it was both. I thought he had a few shifts up front. Makes zero sense to dress 7 and have a fwd short.

My belief is if they keep winning, keep playing an exciting brand of hockey and keep growing then the crowds will come back.

Look at the Sixers..They were doing horribly on attendance during the downtime and now that place is loud , fun and exciting with them being a winner.

Deliver a good product and the fans will be there regardless of price within reason.

Also cut Stewart ASAP because Chuckles is killing them by having him signed..

Eh. I've seen the lows and highs in the 90s-2000s. My dad was season ticket from before we got Iverson all the way until a few years after we traded Iverson.

Crowds were decent pre-iverson. Then obviously games were jammed back constantly during his glory days. Every game was roaring with crowds and packed. Then we went through the rough patches which were pathetic when Igualdala was the main guy. You could hear conversations from across the court, no lie. They cut ties with entertainment including their well-loved dance team. And this was def from the poor ticket sales and fan attendance.

But the 76ers marketing team recognized what needed to be done. Despite being a bottom floor team in the league, they made a huge focus on crowd experience and that slowly brought the fans back into it. Plus, tickets were dirt cheap (that helps). But 76ers have always, always had a strong dedication to fan experience and always kept fans engaged; this is an area i think the Flyers marketing guys really struggle with. They've made efforts to improve, but I think they're still figuring out their audience.

In regards to Stewart it’s a closed issue. We know why he is on the team and it isn’t hockey related. No one close to the Flyers will admit it. It’s called plausible deniability. No need to discuss to further.

I guess my feeling is if you don't feel confident in the other options at forward why call him up? just go with the 7 (Which as i stated i don't like). don't call him up to sit. they may have just wanted to give him a few days to practice wth the team before inserting him in the lineup. if that is not the case just don't call him up, let him continue to play with the phantoms

I cannot believe what Joe Thornton did to Mrazek. You should show some respect to opposite goaltender. It is never fair 1 on 1. Mrazek was absolutely right to be pissed off after Joe's late poke check as the puck was frozen. In old times you would be scared like poop to do that to goaltender after play like that. And then he even crosses a line and punches him in a face?? when Mrazek stands up to him yet clearly not seeing what could come back.
Absolute disgrace from Thornton and shame noone bit the poop out of him.

- Keith25

Strongly disagree. If you want to be shown respect, don't slash the opposition. He'd of been left alone if he hadn't done so. Thornton's poke didn't warrant that response in my opinion.

I would have done the same thing to Mrazek.

agreed that what I said earlier shows complete lack of confidence in both him and stewart. Voro has been up before so he is familiar with schemes and what not./

Did Mrazek finish the game after that? I obviously can’t know for sure, but it looked like he took a dive. Then laid on the ice for a while.

What conspiracy theory are you hinting at with this?

SSB brings up a good point, that double high screen worked very well for us for many years, as well as allowing that high man to drift to the top of the circle for a quick G pass and a rifle from a left handed shooter (hartsy, schenner, coots at times. When did that wrinkle in the PP leave cause i remember, especially Schenn and Hartnell getting a lot of goals in that area.
