SSB brings up a good point, that double high screen worked very well for us for many years, as well as allowing that high man to drift to the top of the circle for a quick G pass and a rifle from a left handed shooter (hartsy, schenner, coots at times. When did that wrinkle in the PP leave cause i remember, especially Schenn and Hartnell getting a lot of goals in that area. - sjk540
If I’m remembering correctly, Frost had a shot from that area on the power play a few games ago. Not happening nearly as much as it used to. |

Was that a PP? I thought that was just a play off the face off. I could be wrong tho |

Haha could have been. I just remember thinking that’s where Schenn and Hartnell were shooting from. He got off a good shot, just missed the net. |

Pretty sure Frosty did put one home from there off a set face off too from G. That would be awesome if Frost became the new G but teamed up with him for the next 5/6 years and become a dominant duo |

Yeah he did. That’s the one he said after that G basically told him exactly where to stand. |

What conspiracy theory are you hinting at with this?
Still love how Stewart consumes cycles for anyone. - opeth_pa
No conspiracy. It is pretty straight forward. Fletcher has Stewart on the team as a personal favor. |

In regards to Stewart it’s a closed issue. We know why he is on the team and it isn’t hockey related. No one close to the Flyers will admit it. It’s called plausible deniability. No need to discuss to further. - StepfordSam
The Stewart topic is just fans needing to female dog. He doesn’t need to be cut ASAP. He’s not keeping a young kid out of the line up or tying the Flyers up from calling up anyone. Complaining about Stewart is just stupid. |

Strongly disagree. If you want to be shown respect, don't slash the opposition. He'd of been left alone if he hadn't done so. Thornton's poke didn't warrant that response in my opinion.
I would have done the same thing to Mrazek. - Pelle31Forever
I dont really have a problem with what either player did. From the video I saw it's hard to tell if the whistle blew before or after Mrazek tied up the puck. It was pretty close anyway, so I dont think Thornton was way out of line taking a poke at the puck. It happens all the time. From Mrazek's point of view I can see being pissed off when someone takes a poke at you after you tie up the puck, so I don't think he was out of line taking a swipe at Thornton. Also happens all the time. It didn't even look like he made contact. After that Mrazek came at Thornton pretty aggressively. Looks like he said something to Thornton. Maybe it was threatening? It doesn't really matter. Thornton just reacted like anyone would when someone comes at you like that and took a pop at him. It looked like it was more the surprise of the punch than the force that knocked Mrazek down. He milked it for a while laying on the ice like he'd been shot. Penalties were handed out. Mrazek was fine and finished the game. Thornton was fine too. What's the big deal? |

I would go Provorov, Ghost (Jake's Spot), Giroux, Coots and JVR. Coots and JVR are the net front guys. I would like a better shot on the right side than what Voracek offers. - mickel25
I’d go back to basics. Original structure. Original cast. Provorov staying ahead of Ghost is the only thing I wouldn’t change. |

Better question: When is Giroux going to start playing goal?
He hasn't yet. Doesn't mean he won't. |

That's why he is a bad leader. The C stands for selfish with that guy. |

He didn’t even tell Hagg to stop taking forward shifts. Does not give one (frank) about the team. |

Flyers had enough point blank chances to score, but just couldn't find the net. The effort was there, but the Fly Boys just came up short. Frost definitely had a rough night, but taking him off of G's line will not help. Consider Frost's bad night as growing pains. He will be fine. |

I would almost say put Ghost back out there, try and get the kids confidence going. If it is all upstairs with him, every moment he sees the first unit go on and he isn't included, it could do something to him mentally. Yeah it sucks if thats the case, but if it is what it is, get him goin there. have Provy on the 2nd unit to make them more potent, and split the time instead of giving heavy minutes to the 2nd unit. We can really have two really good units going and then when we see one clicking we can go with them more. I would go:
1st unit - G (in his office), JVR (net front), Lindblom(high slot) , Voracek (far side, behind net), Ghost QB
2nd Unit - Frost (G's Office), Hayes, Coots, TK, Provy
Two stacked units, plenty of skill, good QB's, and stop giving the 1st unit 1 minute and 30, if they can't get anything going after 30/45 secs you yank em. Plain and simple. There isn't a huge fall off to the 2nd unit. And if its late in the game, Keep G out there and just sit Frosty. |

If Ghost is really this weak mentally, where he doesn’t understand he needs to earn his ice time back, (frank) em! |
