Rick Bowness has been named interim head coach of the Dallas Stars.
The team announced Tuesday morning that Jim Montgomery has been dismissed as the team's head coach. "The Dallas Stars expect all of our employees to act with integrity and exhibit professional behavior while working for and representing our organization," said Stars GM Jim Nill in a statement. "This decision was made due to unprofessional conduct inconsistent with the core values and beliefs of the Dallas Stars and the National Hockey League." Additionally, the team promoted Derek Laxdal, who was serving as the head coach of the AHL's Texas Stars, to an assistant coach on Bowness' staff.

Like I said, I go back and forth on this. Part of me says it sounds like a witch hunt, and someone has an axe to grind. The other part of me says that had any team known about this stuff prior to hiring him, they never would have done so in the first place.
