He's got 4 goals since November 1st, his team needs him and he's disappeared. I am tired of hearing who he has played with, he is getting plenty of scoring chances and he is not burying them. He is a good hockey player, but he needs to be better. - Buff36

Im merely pointing out that Skinner's inability to "help" Eichel stems from literally not being able to.
I never figured him for PP prowess, If he can sustain the 5v5 play with guys like Larsson and other offensive anchors it helps with scoring distribution and helps mask some of the liabilities.
It's all they can really do until they add another top 6 forward. Use their extreme averageness to their advantage. - Sabresfan-365
That offensive anchor has just as many points as Skinner since November 1st

And yet, HE IS scoring at his historic rate.

Oh that's right because in 82 games he will score 30 to 40 goals, who cares about the games in November when we could have used him and we miss the playoffs by 3 points. |

Yeah, it has nothing to do with Larsson hard work in the corners or the puck pressure he puts on defender it's all Skinner. |

Larsson is on pace for a career year while assembling those points primarily playing with Skinner. Do you really think that's coincidence? |

Or who cares about the games in Oct he helped win, you know when the team climbed into 1st...those games in which they captured probably 6 wins more than we thought they mught.
Points equal out over a season, unless you subscribe to the view the points in Nov count more than those in Oct. |

Every point counts, happy he helped in Oct. Had 7 goals, could have used that in November. And the points we didn't get in November could keep us from making the playoffs. So what's your point, he's allowed to take time off because he helped in Oct. |

Skinner is an individual player playing a team sport. He is like the Russel Westbrook of the NHL.
Sure playing with an elite talent like Eichel made him a 63 point player instead of a 54 point player but the reason why he scores at that “historic rate” is because he is a volume shooter that throws everything at the net.
Watch him closely. The guy had 2 shots on goal from the corner the other night. If he had the playing making ability to go with the goal scorer then he would be a “top end” player.
Yet somehow the elite 5v5 goal scorer can’t score on the power play and can’t be counted on defensively so he somehow worth an 8 year investment at a cap dollar he isn’t even worth right now. |

Not really, he has produced just as much with Girgs and Okposo |

So you agree here points are influenced by teammates, but are actually using points to evaluate players.
How you can’t see the major flaw in this, I’ll never know |

You don't want to hear the point.
What you want is for Skinner to pre-schedule his goals every other game , and an assist in the games in between.
It is very obvious.
The point is, he had by your count 7 goals in Oct.
The season is roughly 6 months long.
You are expecting him to produce at a rate of 42 goals a year
He is actually averaging 29 goals over 9 seasons.
Producing at your happy rate of 7 per month or 42 per season is 145% of his 9 year average.
Seems a bit unrealistic to me, but hey math is very unpredictable I know.
Btw, he contributed 12 pts directly to the Sabres 20 accumulated in October with his goals...more when you account for assists.

I don't think it's crazy to bring up Jonas Johansson and trade Hutton. Hutton has sucked or trade for one of nyr goalies. Where was Binnington last year before Blues started playing well. |
