This just in, I'm being told these people are significant problems. - TheSabresTaco
Never said they were problems, just said the team as a whole could of managed their assets better.
Why people can’t understand asset management is beyond me.
With Victor Olofsson we put 5 grand on a call option and turned it into 100 grand.
Getting a 65 point player 2OA that is quite possibly the 6th best forward in his own draft class is like parking money in a GIC that is not even outpacing Inflation. |

I want to go on record in stating that although Mitts needs to get better, he is young and has a ton of upside. He turned 21 less than a month ago! I will not give up on him yet. The list of players that needed a little more time to bloom is very long. Oloffson (who I am very pleased with) is almost 3 1/2 years older. Trading Mitts right now would be a huge mistake unless we are getting something amazing back.
Also - that Joker for Nylander deal was a masterpiece. Give Botts credit where it is due on that. GREAT move.
Finally, Ullmark is playing great right now. He is going to have to keep that up if we want to remain in the playoff hunt. I'm worried he will return to Earth and the team will suffer. Hope he's found himself though. |

Your metaphors have zero place in drafting potential NHL players. Name one team that has consistently nailed all of their first round picks, and if you can manage to pull that off, which you won't, find me a team that consistently has picked exactly where those particular players would be ranked 10 years down the line. |

WRONG.
If he stays on pace for 65 pts, he is going to get it. That is THE POINT.
Not your false narative. - IonSabres
Sam will not be getting 7.5 x 8 for the buffalo Sabres
That's my narrative.
False? We shall see.

I mean he’s been doing it at even strength so doesn’t that falsify your he’s strictly a PP QB narrative ? - Pegullaville
One of them against the Devils was Eichel's goal that happened as the PP expired, which Dahlin would've been on the ice for
Another was a secondary assist on the Johansson one with the goalie pulled, which Dahlin probably would've been on the ice for.
Not complaining about them or saying they don't count, which i'm sure you will spin this into, but he's been put back into the #1 guy out there with Eichel and top PP etc, so of course he's going to get points

So the Lockport Three aren't a problem anymore?
My, my, my, how quickly people do an "about face" after Larry has a good 10 game stretch.
What happens when he goes scoreless in 19 out of the next 20?

I really don't want to be a part of this, but I feel like I need to point something out.
Contracts are derived by career numbers and huge sample sizes, combined with plenty of variables about the on and off ice attributes of the player, the position(s) the player can play, and if young enough, the upside the player has shown to this date.
By no means is a contract determined by a bad 10 game stretch, or an amazing 10 game stretch. |

I'm proud to say that I've supported Lockport Larry since his resurgence last season. I also said that keeping both him and the twin is dumb, especially with Slobby Bobby still here. |

I am kind of getting tired of this sh!t
all 30 gm's would have given up pick number 2 of the 2014 draft for pick number 2 of the 2015 draft
NOT ALL DRAFT CLASSES ARE THE SAME
there was zero chance that anyone not named bennett, reinhart or leon was going to be taken number 2, no matter who was making that pick
zero chance
so just because we didn't get point, arvidsson, or anyone picked in the first round after pick 4, that's on the old gm and his scouting staff
can't change time
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/nhl2014e.html
reinhart is 4th in scoring from his draft class, 3 points behind larkin
can he be better, sure
they all can, even jack
funny, jack plays a little d and matures a little, and this season he FINALLY becomes the player we all hoped for and is deserving to be in the conversation for the second best center in the game
we all want this team to be better, and make the playoffs
but god damn stopping beating the f@cking horse, it's been dead for 2 years now
sam reinhart has 125 points in his last 154 games
if you think that stinks, lace the skates and tryout for the sabres next summer

False:
We won last night and jcargcreapy wants to imply that I'm judging players based on looks?
You call that cheering and fine?
I call it immature. |

I do think +/- has a basis as an evaluation piece. Certainly not the 1st 2nd or 3rd thing to bring up, but relative to others it can bring value. When someone is the league leader, it has merit...like when a player is 2x his closest teammate, and 3x of a player playing the same position, overall it has some value.
I'm glad he is playing well, much better than before. |

Interesting take on Mitts vs Nylander.
To me, Mitts seems to be treking down the same path of futility that Nylander did.
They need to throw him a lifesaver, he's waving his hand furiously while gasping hard for the second time. |
