not really. not strange at all.
if you don't use foresight to make decisions, than it's not strange when you end up with with obvious inconsistencies like having a terrible backup and a boat-load of back-to-backs.
Hopefully Benning can deal Leivo before the deadline to a contender for a 2nd round pick. Showing once again why he’s a better GM than Dumbass - 1970vintage
Four Star General Four Star General from Fire Bros. is an indica-dominant cannabis strain that brings together genetics from two Chemdawg hybrids, Stardawg and Tres Dawg. Its buds are a vibrant show of purple and green calyxes wrapped in red-orange hairs, all shrouded by a sparkling coat of frosty resin. Sweet and earthy with sour notes, Four Star General’s effects weigh down the mind with serene, dreamy euphoria. - Marwood

You think that's a good cap situation? - RogerRoeper
It's weird to be slinging comments about poor cap management considering what team you cheer for. At least the Canucks can afford a full compliment of NHL defensemen, and 2 NHL caliber goalies.

Have you checked the contracts your GM handed-out this summer?
Dubas spends his $ on early 20's first liners. Benning signs a lot of bottom 6 guys to big money. - RogerRoeper
Basically the teams are polar opposites where you have half your cap tied up in 4 players and only 1 dman signed long term lol
We have glorified 3rd liners playing top 6 minutes we are well aware of this. But it is working itself out as we rid ourselves of Sutter Edler tanev eventually.

But all Leaf contracts can be moved. And the core is locked-up. And that constant mention of 1 DMan signed makes it sound more dramatic than it is. Dermott is 1000% returning (Unless you guys will start "Offersheet" theories haha). Sandin and Lilljegren are both signed next year and even after Dermott they'll have minimum 10 million to spend.
If not for those overpaid bottom 6 guys Boeser could have been signed for double the term.

I'll take Leafs cap situation anyday over the Canucks.
And your comment about goalies is funny. 3 million for Luongo this season.
Why overpay for bottom 6 UFAs? That's my point. Jason Spezza is better than Jay Beagle and 2.7 million per cheaper.
And worse thing is you can't move those deals. - RogerRoeper
That kind of thinking is how you end up with this Leafs roster which is a poor man’s version of the recent Tampa teams that choke in the playoffs.
How come Beagle had 8-10 teams bidding on him, including his former team and the defending Stanley Cup champions, while Spezza had to settle for a deal worth peanuts in Canada after having every Canadian team on his NTC not too long ago?
Seems like the league disagrees with your statement.
Teams like Washington and Boston will continue to feast on the soft teams in the East in the playoffs. And if your soft team gets by one of them, you’ll be too (frank)ed up to win the next series
You guys don't need to worry about cap issues next year, not after Matthews demands a trade this off season after the Leafs miss the playoffs. - Marwood
Marner will also demand a trade. He will rip up his contract and sign an offersheet July 1st.
