Good game and he made plays and didn't just have a puck just go off his stick, or have those gifted tips and then hide for most of the game.

Did you hear Rob Ray and Larry Playfair say Risto is playing well and when you play him the right amount of minutes he can play his game? It's almost like they read my posts.

Or Playfair saying, after Jack scored his first goal, you are as good as your top players are playing? Another of my words of wisdom. You are getting pro advice for free. I should have my own show.

By the way, Skinner is on the torrid pace of 46 pts for the year. Do we have any investment advisers, is 9 million a good return for 46 pts?

Good game, Okposo, Larsson, Grigs looking good. I guess a team does need stiffs, eh? It takes a village.

Any thoughts on Reinhart's 2 point night?

There were MANY who wanted him out of town, traded, gone. Up until a couple weeks ago he was Satan's twin.

To clarify my end in this, I said I wanted him traded for a 2C.

Players who are generally bad would not be able to obtain a player of the quality of a 2C.

I can’t speak for anyone else however.

Because he was the most valuable asset they had, at a position they have depth, to get something decent in return. Which means everyone sees what you claim to be the only one who can. Maybe your wanna be college buddies will agree with you in order to try and fit in.

I don't think he is untouchable but I am and have been a supporter and even argued that if you cut down his minutes he will be better and I got ripped a new one left and right. He is important to that D because he plays a unique style than anyone does, especially when he is on his game.

It was quite a conflicted argument. He sucked but we want a 2nd line center for him

I said it at the time, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was healthy a few weeks before he came back and Botterill used him for LTIR cap relief games
- jcragcrumple

There was really no need. Sobotka could have been shifted to LTIR at any point to make room.

Have to admit I do not understand why some seem to dislike Reinhart so much. He's a good player and the Sabres need to keep him and add another good player.

With his 27 points he's tied for 39th in the league. I'll take more of the same for the rest of the season.

Here's a look at some other second overall picks:

Nolan Patrick (2017)
Laine (2016)
Barkov (2013)
Ryan Murray (2012)
Landeskog (2011)
Seguin (2010)
Hedman (2009)
Doughty (2008)
Van Riemsdyk (2007)
Jordan Staal (2006)
Bobby Ryan (2005)

I'm perfectly happy with Reinhart. Sure, if there was a do over, they'd take Draisaitl, but that argument makes no sense. Pure waste of time. If there was a do over, the Panthers would take Draisaitl at #1 instead of Ekblad.

I agree with the fact that arguing we should have taken Draisaitl is a mute point. I agree we need Sam for depth but he maybe the only bargaining chip we have.
Who would you move if you had to send one of the following for a marquee 2c?
1-Samson
2.Mitts
3.Cozens
This is what it will take to land the type of player we all want. Or, we have to accept the team as is with maybe some more depth players added next year until Cozens is ready

Just a ?, cause they probably wouldn't move him, would you trade Cozens for Dylan Larkin

Is the Death Star about to add another piece to the bullpen, Hader would look very nice there.

I think he wants out because he realized he's at the bottom of the pecking order and won't have a chance to inflate his value by sitting out 10-20 games for the rest of this season.

Also, per Vogl-

It appeared Bogosian didn’t take a look at Thursday’s game. He wasn’t seen with the other scratches. As the sponsor of the “Tickets for Troops” program, he normally talks with the honored military veteran outside the dressing room after games, but Sabres staffers were conducting Thursday’s tour.

BOGOSIAN TRADE REPORT

Buffalo has a logjam on the blue line and Zach Bogosian reportedly wants out of it.

Bogosian requested a trade from the Sabres on Thursday after he was scratched from the lineup, according to a tweet from TSN’s Darren Dreger.

So he's acting like a little B$$ch.

Something or nothing. Or funny.

A Phil Housley liked tweet:

Mike Harrington @ByMHarrington

So Bogosian does all that work to get back, plays 10 games after his return, Krueger decides (probably 2-3 games late) to make him a healthy scratch and now the guy wants a trade the first time he gets sat? Are you kidding me? That's just weak. #Sabres

If Dreger's report didn't firm up the request for anyone, him being a no show for the (frank)ing troops should seal the deal.

I was hoping Phil would be on the ice last night for 80's night. Say what you want about the coach, but the player was spectacular.

No, Cozens has more potential and younger is better from a cap perspective

I would legitimately put a ton of thought into that proposal.

There's like no better fit for this team than a guy like Larkin. Age, talent, abilities, play style.. the guy's a perfect match for what we need. Detroit would never, but ultimately the kid is a tweener 1/2 C

3 quick takes

1. I would not let bogo in the building, let alone play him. For a player who wore a letter, and the sabres were patient with him, to demand a trade over 1 game sitting when we have 8 d man is insane

2. ullmark is not an ahl goalie

3. jack is a stud, olofsson is money and skunk keeps setting them up. Now get skinner a center

oh and risto is a beast right now

I find it hard to believe the sole reason for his request is based on being benched a game. Personally, I believe he realized he's at the bottom of the depth chart and wants to go somewhere to boost whatever value he has left in his 30 yo contract year.

Also, Risto with Montour is a great find.
