Beaulieu and Bogo are two totally different cases. Beau at least tried with the limited talent he had. Bogo was supported by the medical staff and the team and then asks out. That’s a jerk move. |

Two questions...
1- what’s it take to get him
2- what’s it take to resign him?
Ok. 3....
Who’s playing center on a ....
Skinner - ? - Hoff line?
Ok 4... did he merry the crazy girlfriend? - Gr8daygo
Rumor was that if he was still with his girlfriend, and was traded here, she already has Dahlin's future gf/wife's phone number to let her know that she hated her, and would be very pleased with any misfortune that would ever fall upon her. |

Business decisions make players look like jerks all the time. I guess I'm in the minority when I believe a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do. I will absolutely admit the optics look bad and are very poorly timed with him being a scratch the same night of the report. There's a real chance he asked for a trade weeks or months ago. |

I honestly don't see it as a jerk move or anything like that. This is business for both the players and the owners. If your career was playing hockey and you are playing for a contract, the last thing that we want to do if you feel that you can still play would be to sit more often then not. I think he came to the realization that that was going to be the case here. He wants to sign another contract, and knows he needs to be playing to do it. Could/Should it have been kept internally? Sure, and maybe it was for a while and he's sick of Botts saying that trades take 18 months to come to fruition. He doesn't have that long to wait. Now do I personally think he should get a good contract in the future? No, but to rag the guy for wanting that when he knows he won't play much here this year, and wouldn't be getting a contract here next year, it feels more like a win-win situation to move on. |

His ploy seems like a great way to remained scratched. I still hope Botterill makes a business decision to waive him |

Fair enough. My point was we all applaud when a GM does a smart business decision, but rag on them when players attempt to do one. You're right, he prolly has played his last game as a Sabre. If he was told he was gonna sit every other night, I think the smart play is to request a trade, play 30 games for his new team (lol, he won't make it that long) vs playing 20 games every other here. That's all I'm saying. |

I can’t see bogo just getting waived. I think botts believes that all players have some sort of value. No matter how low. |

NBC SPORTS: Former NHL goaltender Tim Thomas revealed he’s been dealing with brain damage related to his playing career that’s derailed his life. Doctors told Thomas that two-thirds of his brain were getting less than 5% blood flow and the other third was averaging about 50%. - homiedclown

Just a guess on my part but Bogo is playing for probably his final contract and is not going to get it here and he knows it, hence the trade request.
The other side of it is Botts told him he was getting waived for the purpose of going to Rochester to play and he declined, so he requests a trade.
Juist a hunch on my part. |

Yes kinda like all of the contracts that all us posters have signed to play right? Believe it or not, he's going to sign another NHL contract. He prolly has a belief, and rightfully so based on GM history, showing that you can play for 30 or so games will get him closer to a 2/3x2.5/3 contract vs a 1 year prove it vet league min contract. |

It's not a binary that when a player asks for a trade it's bad or a GM makes a move it's good because one benefits the team, it's an unfair portrayal of what we're saying.
I have no problem with players asking for trades in general, I'm a business guy. If I have a better offer, I'm giving my employer fair notice I'm leaving no matter what I'm working on. Players have a right to look after themselves the same way I do. I applaud that.
To say someone who has played a TERRIBLE stretch of games after the organization supported him through ALL his injuries is asking for a trade....that's different.
It's a jerk move. If he was playing great and was getting scratched in favor of a young guy, I'm with you. I'm not in your plans, that's OK, I'll play and be a part of the team until you find a trade, but please start looking. I'm good with that. That didn't happen here, it was reported the team handled a charity event for him because he was a no show. If that's true, bye.
For crying out loud, Eichel considers Bogo his best friend and he was SHOCKED when he heard. If I'm Bogo and that isn't true, I'm getting out there immediately. It had to be a quick decision is Jack didn't know.
For crying out loud, OBJ isn't this tone deaf.
Head to Cincy or Roch and see what that does for your next contract. |

I don't see a Bogo for Galchenyuk type of move. They don't need a RD, maybe a LD depending on how long Dumoulin will be out. |
