This isn't fantasy (frank)ing football. - TheSabresTaco
He's payed 1 million less than Jack and has 3 goals and 2 assists in 13 games. Thank God he isn't in my fantasy league! |

Question to ponder :
Was the team better without Dahlin ? - kritter65
Careful, you're drifting into a highschool-esq question realm.
11-13 (incs OTLs) with Dahlin.
4-4 (incs OTLs) without Dahlin.

He did not have a great game last night all goals are not created equal as people are; the puck went off his stick.
The assist was secondary and if we go by brauds logic, which we don't tend to do (special teams don't matter, faceoffs don't matter, Kreugler sucks, get Olofsoon off the first line, etc, etc, etc) it is not as important.
Anyway, Reinhart hasn't been that great and didn't have a noteworthy game last night and which has been his trend, tips be damned! - GilPerreault11

He's starting to wake up, I have been hard on him and he still disappears for long stretches, but he has 6 points in the last 5 games, we need him to keep going. Skinner looks like he's about to blow, can't seem to buy a goal right now. I am hard on him cause he is a goal scorer, it will happen, we need him. |

Is it too much to ask to go back in time and ask the former GM to select a different player, or are you just going to accept mediocrity? |

How about this:
Skinner is a finisher, he has been great, he shows up every night and he is a true 9 million dollar a year superstar!!
You build a team around Jeff Skinners because if he is going to get you a goal 4.3 games that is a player and an assist 1 every 6.3 games that is what you are looking for. I like his pp. He just needs to be utilized better, not his fault at all. If we had 12 Jeff Skinners the sky is the limit his D play isn't his fault he is offense and we aren't paying him to score PP goals or play OT or get assists just goals and he just gets it done!! Long live Jeff Skinner!!

Tired of reading the same debates and argument about which players suck or are good.... so let me offer this:
The 13 games over the next 4-5 weeks (starting last night) are the hardest stretch on the schedule. Make or break time began last night, in my opinion. If we don't fall apart, and end up with 1/2 of the points over this stretch, I think we will make the playoffs.

Is it that an abomination to state that the Sabres top 3 forwards currently aren't good enough to go deep into the playoffs?
They are fine if spread out into other teams and not being the focus but to lead a team to the Cup, in my opinion, is not the cocktail for sustained, deep success.
Jack can
Sam would be fine if he didn't expect 7 million + and be one of the top wingers and instead be a 5.5 million and maybe fit him on the 3rd line or use him and something else to try to upgrade a first or 2nd line winger.
They are stuck with Skinner and he could play on the 2nd line with a good center and another strong winger and be part of a winner but 10 mil, 9 mil, and Sam is going to want 7.5 mil and that trio is not good enough in my opinion for that amount of money against the cap with Dahlin coming up wanting big bucks if he gets out of his funk. Olofsson is going to get a nice paycheck if he keeps this up.
Another thing, fans aren't filling the arena during the week against the Stanley Cup Champion and other teams. Maybe more dynamic, exciting players than Sam Reinhart and many other forwards besides Jack would help as well and dealing Reinhart + and maybe + would help in this regard.
Better and exciting is my thesis. - GilPerreault11

No, nate was a 5th round pick. Expectations are pretty reserved for a 5th round player.
Maybe mitch trubinski? 2nd overall 24 years old.
Some fans love the guy. Others wonder why?
He's a decent qb, criticized for all out winning attitude and leadership. Plays well in spurts. Good stats guy |

St Louis Blues, a perceived playoff team: Top 5 scorers have 126 points combined.
Buffalo Sabres, the ass of the league 4sho: Top 5 scorers have 131 points combined.
We ready to make this about other things than (frank)ing points? - TheSabresTaco
Let’s do production per dollar of cap hit.
The best teams manage their cap the best.
We have 25M tied up into crap.
Sam will soon join Skinner in the overpaid quadrant.
Every single Blues player outplayed their cap hit last year, same with the Bruins (except Backes). |
