Duclair a good example of a late bloomer. Hopefully Nylander can follow suit in a year or two and hopefully in Chicago. |

A good example of not giving up on very young potential. |

I'm still less than pleased with the Blackhawks non-response when Marchand ended Duclair's season... |

Too bad Gilbert wasn't on the team that game. |

Or just a guy who is playing roughly 3 minutes more a game than his career averages. Would he get that much time on a good team? Doubtful. There are some things that indicate this season might just be an aberration for him. Contract year for one.
4:1 turnover ratio. Negative CorRel%. Surprisingly his SH% seems to be in line with his career averages.
Still doesn't change the fact he was virtually useless in Chicago.

Calvin out 4 to 5 months basically season ending injury. What a complete hot mess Chicago is. I would venture to say if things don't get resolved before January for Chicago i.e going on a run winning games , IMO I see Chicago being huge sellers |

Hat trick for Duclair, including the OT winner for Ottawa against Columbus.
That’s 28+7=25 in 33 games.
That settles it - Stan has got to go. - StLBravesFan

As much as most of us wanted them to win this year, I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world. |

Maybe - and maybe found himself at 24 playing without having to worry about being sat for for every missed play. |

End of April will be 4-1/2 months. He could return for the 3rd round of the playoffs. |

Could be a lot of things.
Could be he’s a young player with good potential that could be the Hawks should have been developing and not giving up on.
Could be. |

Same lineup tonight as last game. KK and Sikura in the press box. |

I hope they move Sikura to give him a chance to succeed - he’s not going to get a good opportunity here, apparently.

HawkintheD I admit I was truly excited and more optimistic about the this year and others here I have to admit where right about this team.
As you stated it wouldn't be a bad thing , I agree Chicago has to hit rock bottom miss the playoffs again , in order to see major change in the front office and blow this team up and rebuild this team the right way.
Imo if the core can be convinced to waive their no movement clauses that would be in Chicago's best interest long term |

Your point is correct , if somehow magically Chicago found it's game and went on a run winning 17 of the next 20.
I like Calvin's game , but what crappy luck he has in regards to his shoulder getting reinjured. |

the only positive out of this is the hawks can LTIR him and use those cap $$ to fina replacement..not easy to do

Not sure if this is possible , but Chicago has some serious cap issues with regards to bonuses. If the season is lost which looks more than likely let the kids play trade off any players of value . |

My in-the-head calculations of potential realistic bonuses this season (base on an excerpt of an article in the Athletic, shown below) comes to possibly aomething approaching $2MM.
Perhaps, instead of utilizing deHaan’s LTIR money for an expensive replacement, they should apply it to the bonuses (if the CBA would allow it)so they don’t carry forward to next season.
Powers, in the Athletic:
We haven’t talked much about player bonuses this season, but that could lead to the Blackhawks having a slight overage at the end of the season.
Dylan Strome could reach some of his “A” bonuses. He’s in line to at least be among the team’s top six forwards in ice time and the top three forwards in plus/minus rating. Each of those would trigger a bonus of $212,500. There are also bonuses of the same amount if he has 20 goals, 35 assists, 60 points or averages 0.73 points. He’s only allowed a maximum of $850,000 in the “A” bonuses and will probably be close to hitting that amount.
Dominik Kubalik has those same bonuses in his contract. As of now, he has a shot at the plus/minus bonus and the bonus for 20 goals. He would also get a $212,500 bonus if he were selected to the all-rookie team.
Alex DeBrincat has a bonus in his contract worth $32,500 if he plays in all 82 games this season. It paid him $132,500 for appearing in all 82 games last season and $182,500 for playing in all 82 games as a rookie.
Boqvist, Dach and Alex Nylander also have performance bonuses in their contracts this season, but they’re unlikely to meet most of them at this point. Dach could have a chance at the all-rookie team bonus.

I wouldn't worry about those bonuses. Many of the players on their ELC'S who have the bonuses written into their contracts likely won't reach the levels needed for payout.
